Kerry voted in support of Ted Kennedy`s amendment to S. 1805 that would have banned rifle ammunition capable of penetrating soft body armor. Congress has repeatedly rejected such a "performance-based" approach.

Note VERY carefully the very deceptive wording here:
Anything classified as body has NIJ standards with Class 2a being the entry level - see http://www.maxsell.com/nij.htm . At this point it stops a .22 through a 9mm round.

Anyone who knows anything of rifle ballistics knows that almost every hunting rifle exceeds this because a rifle chambers a much larger round compared to a handgun round.

So in effect Kerry's using the "BODY ARMOUR" argument is basically intended to say: Hey we have to protect the police by removing all rifle ammo that can defeat the police body armour and is in effect eliminating everything except .22 cartridges, which is useless for hunting any large animals such as deer.

Imho, these anti-gunners are simply evil and intent on destroying America by tearing out the foundations of the Constitution which gave us the right to own ALL guns and our Freedoms.
