This needs to be posted to Internet forums and groups interested in gun rights. It would inspire more folks to come to the polls and vote in November.

This is "The United States of America" not some bug eating pacifist 3rd world country full of uninformed , unarmed and uninvolved first generation immigrants

I'd like to think that you're right and I'm wrong, but consider this:

You have described exactly the area I live in. How did you know? According to the Atlanta Urinal/Constipation, my home county has the highest Hispanic immigrant population of any county in the USA. What a wonderful example of diversity. These people have no knowledge of nor any interest in the Bill of rights, Second Amendment specifically. There are some legal immigrants to be sure, but I can't imagine that all or even the majority have bothered with any formal process. What's more is that they are sucking up tax dollars for health care, "education," and the other usual "services" that the government is eager to provide at the expense of those who work. If you're an immigrant using the government to rob others to benefit yourself it is not in your interest to promulgate freedom from the government

Consider New York (and NJ, MA, MD, CT, RI, CA, IL etc.) One of the most virulently fanatic anti-gunners in Kongress, Carolyn McCarthy, was elected from long island solely on her hatred of freedom and her promises to make the rest of the country into a zone where only the police and the military are armed. The majority of people in NY (or at least the majority of those who vote) fear, hate, and envy those of use who don't worship government. They are too cowardly to come and get our rifles, pistols and guns in person, but they don't mind sending the federal gun gestapo to do it.

You and I may have made the resolution that when the confiscation squads start collecting we'll start working our "to do" lists, but we're in the minority, even on this forum.

A wise man once said that the pen is mightier than the sword. I live by those words. That's why I'm here, trying to defend our greatest freedoms -- many of which are incrementally threatened by demagogues who tickle the fears of our fellow citizens to achieve their aims.

All I can do is what you, Travis, and Joe do day in and day out: appeal to my fellow Americans to think before they give up on history. History is a jailor and a merciless task master to those who refuse to believe that it repeats itself.

Words are all we have to save our Republic from madness. And so we write... Laura Bush said that it's a new era of pampheleteering. I agree! It's our opportunity to arouse the love of freedom and self governance among our fellow citizens.

Freedom fairly cries out to be espoused!

Within the last few lines of the article, it stated that Kerry voted against confirmation of Ashcroft, as if that wote were a bad thing for gun rights.

I'm not debating the truth of the items, but rather the connection of voting against John Ashcroft with the preservation of or opposition to gun rights.
