Kerry's Reaction

Kerry's Reaction John LeBoutillier Monday, Aug. 23, 2004 What the Swift Boat Controversy has done is show the world what many of us have known for years: John Kerry is a completely ruthless, calculating, pathological, overly-ambitious liar who will do anything to win the White House.

However, as bad as things seem for him at the moment - and make no mistake that this controversy is the worst chapter in his campaign since the days of Howard Dean zooming ahead in the race a year ago - the fact that he is being proven to be a liar, an exaggerator, an embellisher and a fabricator does not automatically mean he will not or can not win in November.

Isn’t that a sad commentary on American politics?

But the lessons of the two Bill Clinton elections are clear: the American people have voted and will vote for a liar - even if they know he is a liar.

In 1992, Clinton distinguished himself by lying so often and so outrageously that the voters elected him anyway. His denials over extra-marital affairs with Gennifer Flowers and other “bimbos,” his “I did not inhale” statement, and his various positions on his draft dodging escapades seemed not to matter to voters; they elected him twice anyway.

What does this tell us?

The American voter figures all politicians lie all the time anyway so why should this guy be any different?

And maybe they are right, too. But, sadly, this results in dishonest government, cover-ups, scandals and disgrace.

The Swift Boat Controversy has hurt Kerry among some key groups, especially veterans. It has also taken the spotlight off of a damaged and weakened President Bush and focused it squarely on Kerry. Some ‘un-named’ democrats worry that this controversy could cost Kerry the election. There is no doubt it is a serious problem for the Kerry Campaign.

Knowing Kerry, here is what he is contemplating: he is signaling Bush that everything is on the table now. That means that Kerry will take Bush - who he believes is directly involved in the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth campaign - right into the gutter as payback. Past allegations not only about Bush’s Texas Air National Guard problems will suddenly re-surface soon. But - ominously - so, too, may past rumors of Bush’s use of cocaine in his “young and irresponsible years” and rumors of Bush girlfriends having abortions. These have been raised in the past. Look for Kerry to have carefully researched them and prepared some type of attack based on them. In other words, Kerry is ready to go nuclear to win this election.

All along Kerry has tried to have it both ways on his Vietnam service: he saw himself as a war hero-turned anti-war leader. Anything that gets in the way of that picture infuriates him. And the Swift Boat Vets have gummed things up for him. But, in his pathological brain, he sees the Bush Attack Machine behind this and he is determined to destroy the Bushes once and for all.

Look for a MoveOn. org ad - or some other pro-Kerry 527 group - to air devastating negative commercials against Bush. And know that they are operating on direct orders from John Kerry.

Kerry has been telling people since high school - I know this because my brother was one year ahead of Kerry - that he was going to be President. And Kerry knows this is his one shot; if he loses, he is toast as the Democrats move to Hillary in 2008.

So Kerry has to do everything he can to win this election. And he will do whatever it takes.

Team Bush is already been hurt by Iraq, no WMD, and a still-weak economy. Their only hope of winning is to make Kerry the issue in the campaign. They have had a very good last 10 days; the media glare has been on Kerry and caused a re-examination of his war record.

But it will soon change; these stories tend to run out of gas after a couple of weeks.

The big question is: will new revelations emerge to hurt Bush or Kerry?

Kerry has been described as an opportunist. I would definitely say it fits.

The Swifties aren't finished with Kerry yet. Wait for phase three, I suspect it will involve giving aid and comfort to the enemy, while still in the Navy.

Maybe instead of trying to use logic on the left, we should turn to humor. They don't understand logic. They do understand being laughed at - and it infuriates them since they are so "superior".

Humor might be just the ticket to drive The Chin over the edge for that "Dean Scream Moment".

Fine. Let Kerry play his trump cards now, instead of holding them for the weekend before the election.

Besides, character assassination doesn't work on incumbents.

There is much more to this than Kerrys service.

There are 2.5 Vietnam Veterans who are now waking up.

There are an estimated 22.5 million living service Veterans. This is a voting block Kerry thought he could steal from President Bush.

The truth is important to these Vets.As they learn more about Kerrys slandering of the Vietnam Vets, a large majority will turn against him.

Its already started.

I think the Swifties have got more to expose. I expect it will come out right after the convention. Besides, Slick Willie and Hitlery have a few cards up their sleeves too. Guess it's good to have them in our corner at this point.

And us vets have families too. Think Kerry miscalculated when he bashed the Vietnam vets, then the National Guard and tried to abandon the guys in Iraq. All of these folks have parents, siblings, friends etc that will stand behind them, thus discounting Kerry. I love it.

No way this story wears out. SBVT have no allegience to anything but the truth, and they will kick Kerry's arse until he's dead and gone and the flies have dispersed.

Wonder why their measley 500k have been 100x more effective than the >60m spent by Sorhead & Co? It's the "truth" baby! Like a glass of water hitting the wicked witch, it BURNS! There is no disguising it. The Dim's winged monkeys have screeched and screeched their screed, and all that they have done thus far adds up to mental masturbation. And 60 million dollars worth of that still adds up to jack!

Kerry is done for, and I'm so thankful for the Vietnam Veterans, who are finally afforded the opportunity to win their honor back from that commie rat fink.

Semper Fi,

This is not only a sad commentary on American politics, but on America itself. The majority of people here can't be bothered to vote and don't care. Of those who do vote approx. one half are idiots who will destroy this country if given the chance. That leaves the rest to defend this country against the asses of evil. The lies and hypocrisy from the left are stunning. Kerry and co. sink to new lows daily while getting a free pass from the media. Taking the "high road" against this scum will only bring defeat. They have set the terms of this fight and I hope Bush and co. intend to oblige them because the future of this country requires it. This is going to be nasty and dirty regardless. Why should it one sided. If some are turned off by it so be it. They will just move to the majority of people who don't vote and don't care. Who cares?

Thank You for finishing my thought.

You are right, its not JUST the Veterans.

It is also those who know them, respect them, and love them.

I sense a groundswell of support developing for President Bush.

Kerry and his surrogates just do not get it. FRegards...

God Bless your thoughts, but I've been through it all before on FR.

Clinton was done ten times and just minutes away from the perp walk according to posters here in the 90s. But, he survived Bosnia, Bimbos and BS; and is living it up with his book signings in Ireland as we type.

One problem that any politician has to face is that the public has become so used to candidates shading the truth that lying is not the sin that it should be. Politics consists of a candidate presenting his best features even if it takes a little exaggeration along the way. A candidate can take little comfort from the fact that lying is expected from a candidate. This is the reason that issues take more precedent with the public than personal attacks.

John Kerry is a completely ruthless, calculating, pathological, overly-ambitious liar who will do anything to win the White House.

Should be added - despicable, self-aggrandizing, backstabbing, seditious traitor.

The American voter figures all politicians lie all the time anyway so why should this guy be any different?

So why don’t the vast majority of Americans vote for the lesser of the liars? many vote for the lesser of two evils. Hanoi John has been caught in too many to count. President Bush hasn’t really been caught in any that I know of.
Could it be that far too many voters actually believe campaign pledges about promised new government give away programs? “What’s in it for me” seems to be the underlying motivation for many.

The Big Lie theory of politics. So what if I lied, the other side does too. This needs to change. The SwiftVets are changing this a lie at a time. They know that the Lies of this particular Politician has led to many dead American soldiers and our loss of our National Will and they are right. They single handily have resurrected the real basis on which to vote.
Clinton Lies = 9/11, JfK Lies = ??. Lack of character is likely to be fatal to others. God Bless Americas' Citizen Armed Forces and Veterans they have been truly magnificent!!!
