Also, Google the sub itself "Agosta 90-B". Pakistan has already tested small nukes suitable for delivery by this sub. The sub is armed with nuke as we speak. Conflict with India does not explain the desire of Paki land to acquire a high tech submarine capable of delivering nuke tipped cruise missles thousands of miles away. Only a U.S. target explains this logically. I just hope Bush and his White House understand the implications of Paki submarines carrying nukes. 'Nuff said.
I agree-the Pakis would love to tip nuke missiles on their subs-the point is which missile are they going to deploy nukes on-a sub needs missiles to carry nukes, doesn't it-so which missile on it is nuketipped-
1.The French Exocet(technically impossible)??
2.US harpoon(which they operate & will recieve more of soon)??
3.Chinese C-801??
& any nuclear cruise missile they can procure won't go beyond 1000kms(only Russia & Israel have nuke tipped cruise missiles with that range & both are fiercely pro-India).If you did'nt know,Pakistan would be wiped out in a Indian second strike using it's French or Russian jets or land based missiles-they DESPERATELY need second strike capability against India. While India is known to have some sort of 2nd strike capability on its Kilo class subs & Surface ships against Pakistan(which may be based on the Russian Club anti-ship/land attack cruise missile or the Israeli Turbo Popeye is which is rumoured to have been sold to India) & is also working on nuclear subs(to deter China).
Pakistan has only 3 such boats now & 4 near obsolete Daphne class subs, while India has 10 kilo class & 4 HDW type209 class subs-beats me why they would use such subs on a suicidal oneway mission all the way to the US??
Having said that US bases in Qatar & Oman & the naval facility at Diego Garcia(off the Maldives island chain) would make tempting targets for such a system.
