This is behind-the-scenes move. Can you get someone to recant on pain of torture, innuendo, blackmail, etc. (we're talking FBI files, Larry Flynt docs and the like).

Yesterday the rumor was Tim McCurry would join the Kerry campaign. He must have had a Monica flashback and decided he'd had his combat tour defending another liar, Bill Clinton.
Old "Deer In The Headlights Lockhart on the other hand makes perfect sense for this job. We know how that man can lie....big time! He almost seemed to enjoy it, and not out of conviction, or because he was duped.
