Well if that's the case if All the Apostles and believers in Jesus Christ were Jews and had Jewish wives and Jewish children and down the line than there DNA would be of Jewish blood if I am hearing you correctly, if you give up your religion does that change your DNA (Jewish by blood) to be part of the 12 tribles of Israel?

I'm a descendent of the Jews as well, but I'm a third generation Christian branch of the family.

Before that the Jewish ancestor's father was from Germany. He was born and raised in Boston, MA, and from there he traveled west and found himself on a boat heading to the South Pacific, where he eventually founded our family in German colony. To save his children from the anti-semitic Germans, he gave his children a German last name and baptized and raised them as Christians.

Our Jewish origin remained undiscovered until recently when a member of our family traced our genealogy and discovered the truth.

Oh, I'm suspicious of the guys in India, but it isn't up to me. It is up to Israel if they are going to deny immigration rights to 5,000 practicing Jews based suspicion of their bloodlines. Israel should know that to deny a group that large would be too close to the same mindset that led to the German attempts to exterminate the Jews. The whole Master Race theory too...

The first generations of Christians were Jewish. But very quickly they intermarried with non-Jews who adopted Christianity. Their descendents became part of the Christian population, and ceased to be part of the Jewish population.

The Jewish genetic markers identified by the studies are also found in non-Jewish populations, to a very small degree -- highlighting certain individuals as being partially of Jewish descent. Most of the "markers" are found on the paternal Y chronomose. I don't have the statistics in front of me, but I seem to recall that the Jewish markers are found on close to 90% of Jews, and roughly 3% of non-Jewish Europeans. That 3% would represent individuals who had a paternal male ancestor who was Israelite -- whether it was 100 years ago, or 1000 years ago.
