It was stated as though unmarried women are not welcome as supporters of the Republican ticket

I didn't interpret it that way. I've never felt that the Republicans don't welcome unmarried woman, the post simply stated the fact, according to pre-election and exit polls that unmarried women tended to vote for Democrats, and the women explained why in the questioning. It was very close to what zerosix said.

I'm married, but one of my sisters in law is single. She's in a minority in that she detests the Democrat party, but that may be because she never married and has always supported herself and never expected anyone to help her; in other words, she's a strong, independent woman!

It is really the unmarried women (think of bitter never-marrieds and divorceees) who are looking for another "Big Daddy" to take away their cares and woes.says zerosix.

This is fact?
