concerned that the recent apprehension of 450 illegals by agents in inland areas of Southern California failed to consider the "sensitivities" of those detained.who employ illegals.

The Cheap Labor wing of the GOP strikes again!

There's a fungus among us.

The Bush administration is floating into a state of maximum denial and silence on this issue. What annoys me most is the lack of candor in the Bush administration as to the real choices and options this nation must grapple with on the illegal immigration issue. Dammit, the Bush administration is not engaged and AWOL on this issue. Bush need not become nativist to become engaged. What he does need to become, is a bit more explicit in defending his policies and why and in detail. This beyond the curtain stuff is craven and disgusting. And I don't think political realities cut it. Americans are looking for intelligent non nativist leadership on this issue, and so far, nobody is providing it of any import - it is the null set, nada.

"that in the future, Homeland Security would enforce immigration laws "in a reasonable manner" and would consider the "sensitivities" surrounding the enforcement of those laws in its interior-enforcement program." "sensitivities"!!!! How can the Bush campaign go after Kerry for his "more sensitive War on Terror" speech and consider the "sensitivities" of illegal aliens?

And how will those "sensitivities" save you and me and our fellow citizens from crimes and terrorism committed by aliens?

Your homeboys are on vacation, so you'll have to call their instate numbers. We can call the Whitehouse, however:

202-45202-456-1111

Homeland Security: dhs.gov

They think we're all sitting on the beach sipping Mai Tais. Time to let them know we're watching every move they make and we'll vote accordingly.

Did you see Condi Rice on O'Reilly a few days ago? It was ridiculous. He repeatedly asked her about the borders (what with terrorists coming over, and all); and posited his well-known opinion that there should be military guarding this area.

She gave some lame answer about not wanting to shut down "trade." WHO is talking about shutting down "trade?" What she really means, but will not say, is that they don't want to shut down the "trade" of cheap labor.

Unfortunately for them, the American people are starting to realize that this foolish "cheap" labor is simply being subsidized by the taxpayers. We may need some, but they've thrown the doors open wide. They've also thrown the doors wide open to the drug trade, and terrorists. They all make me sick (BOTH parties); AND they might yet get another few thousand of us killed in their little "deal with the devil."

ANY restriction on the number of arrested illegals is unacceptable.

Is it any wonder Homeland "Security" is regarded as a joke?

We don't need them at all. There are plenty of people out of work, including jobs for high school kids and college students that can't find work. There is enough legal immigrants to fill in for the rest.

They're costing us a fortune in taxes and giving us nothing but headaches in return. Enough is enough. I'm tired of subsidizing the campaign donor's cheap labor.

ACK! I don't know how I messed up those numbers so badly, but I did. Let's try it again:

202-456-6213 and 202-456-1111 for the Whitehouse Comment Line.

dhs.gov is for Homeland Security! Let 'em have it.

Oh, I agree with you. The thing that FINALLY has people (in areas other than the already-overtaken West Coast) noticing it is the schools. Hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars going to educate children of illegals, at the expense of the quality of education for our own children, has finally hit home.

Perfect example: Our "rag of record" prints about one sob story per week about some poor "immigrant" family that may be deported. This week's example was a family that has been living here for about six years. They dragged all of their children here with them (so none are fictional citizens). This family alone has cost over $120,000 in taxpayer dollars for educational expense. I'm sure that the "fine" employer has another dozen illegals on his payroll. This employer should be in the Fed Pen for theft.

ICE is controlled by legacy Customs. From what I have seen so far, ICE has little interest in app'ing illegal aliens. If legacy Customs can get a good haul in money and property they will do an illegal alien operation. If there are 10 illegals simply standing on the street corner in the interior of the US you can forget about it, ICE isn't interested. Of course, some of us will go against policy and arrest illegals anywhere.
