The presidential contest in the battleground states that likely will decide the election tilted in Sen. John Kerry's favor after the Democratic National Convention, but Republicans say the race is now shifting back toward President Bush.
Public polling by newspapers and other news organizations showed that the Massachusetts senator got a modest 5-point post-convention bounce that strengthened the edge he held in a number of major competitive states, including Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New Hampshire a shift that Bush campaign officials acknowledged in background interviews last week.

Stop! Stop! You're making me giddy!
I could have sworn I saw stories on TV today that Kerry has surged in Florida and Pennsylvania.
I think I'm going to stop reading all polls, it's making me dizzy (grin). I just pray this story has it right!
from the article:
"No state is more important than Ohio, a state that Mr. Bush won narrowly in 2000 but has been struggling in all year. Mr. Kerry held the edge there for months, but last week a Columbus Dispatch poll showed him trailing the president 47 percent to 44 percent, with 2 percent for Ralph Nader and 7 percent undecided. The poll's margin of error was two percentage points. "
The media find one poll showing Kerry ahead by one percentage point, and they report "Kerry Surging!"
Wisconsin? Iowa? I'm salivating...
It's OK to be giddy as long as you still get out there and hustle for voters. Make sure everyone you know is registered and that they'll vote for Bush. Just give them the facts, they'll do the rest.
I hope my nerves are strong enough to make it to Nov. 2.

Lack of coming clean about Xmas in Cambodia, 'Nam before and after he "served" there and then testified in front of congress and his wifes support of leftists terroristic domestic and international groups may not be doing much to help either, ya think? ;-)
That is the key. Good news.
Ray Fair, the Yale Economist, who based on economic models has accurately predicted the presidential elections has been saying that the President will win by a landslide. Ray Fair is a Democrat.

Ya think Kerry turned on, tuned in , and dropped out in the 60s?
So news travels slower in battleground states? I'd say that's as weak an answer as Kerry's one about Cambodia. All Florida polls will be old news now that Charley has cut a swath through the state. And the other polls don't look great at this point but I've said all along this would be the low-water mark and that he would (barring unforseen difficulties) inch his way back into a lead outside the MOE by November.
Keep in mind, though, that the media is always going to portray a tight race because they want the horse race for their own benefit (audience).

Sorry PA is much more important.
Was on the WWVA (Wheeling WV) web site little bit ago and their presidential poll had Bush 68, Kerry 22, Pioli 8,--
Don't know what happened to the other 2% as they only gave 3 choices...I DO NOT think it only allows you to vote once either--
Before you get too carried away, WWVA is the Rush/Shawn/Truckin Bozo outlet also....
"It's OK to be giddy as long as you still get out there and hustle for voters. Make sure everyone you know is registered and that they'll vote for Bush. Just give them the facts, they'll do the rest."
Exactly! Kerry is making a lot of promises to whomever has their hand out. As previous postings have suggested, this election will be won "on the ground"...that is, whoever can register the most voters on their side and convince them to vote.
By the way, Arizona has moved into the battleground state territory and the footsoldiers for the left are making the rounds where more than half of the state's population lives (Phoenix, which recently passed Pittsburgh in population)
