Way too soon to tell, look more like Mexico or south Texas but one never knows.

Normally I'd agree, and that's what I thought a day ago, and climo says that's more likely, but unfortunately it looks like the Eastern trough will be positioned again in roughly the same place as Charley, when Earl arrives west of Jamaica on a number of models...NOGAPS turns it up towards western Florida. UKMET has it turn N but it only runs out 6 days, unclear if it turns east.

Another cold front comming down? Man cold front in Texas in August! Two of them? Must be global warming, we ever get cold front in august here, now we get two, very strange.

In past years, a hurricane following closely on the heels of another has not had the same intensity -- something to do with colder water being churned up in its path.

Let's hope this one follows that pattern.
