Money points:

A handful of Kerry's ''band of brothers'' are traveling around with his campaign. Most of the rest, including a majority of his fellow swift boat commanders and 254 swiftees from Kerry's Coastal Squadron One, are opposed to his candidacy. That is an amazing ratio and, if snot-nosed American media grandees don't think there's a story there, maybe they ought to consider another line of work. To put it in terms they can understand, imagine if Dick Cheney campaigned for the presidency on the basis of his time at Halliburton, and a majority of the Halliburton board and 80 percent of the stockholders declared he was unfit for office. More to the point, on the swift vets' first major allegation -- Christmas in Cambodia -- the Kerry campaign has caved.

Bears repeating.

When the dims "speak their truth", it actually means "they are lying".

So the Kerry campaign's begun riffling hurriedly through its Sears Rowback catalog for more or less watertight back-pedaling of the story

Sears Rowback! Steyn really knows how to turn a phrase.

Of Medals and Men: Understanding the Veterans' Ire

"We will not quickly join those who march on Veteran's Day waving small flags, calling to memory those thousands who died for the 'greater glory of the United States.' We will not accept the rhetoric. We will not readily join the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars--in fact, we will find it hard to join anything at all and when we do, we will demand relevancy such as other organizations have recently been unable to provide. We will not take solace from the creation of monuments or the naming of parks after a select few of the thousands of dead Americans and Vietnamese. We will not uphold the traditions which decorously memorialize that which was base and grim…We are asking America to turn from false glory, hollow victory, fabricated foreign threats, fear which threatens us as a nation, shallow pride which feeds of fear." -John F. Kerry, The New Soldier, 1971

perhaps he smashes up lamps from his guilt about his lying, his betrayal of his band of brothers, the lack of accomplishment in his career, the failure of his first marriage, the unborn babies aborted in contradiction to his Catholicism - could these possibly be weighing on his conscience?

'' 'He'll often thrash around in the night,' the filmmaker George Butler, who is one of Kerry's oldest friends, told me.

Liberal democrat liars get elected by the population segment comprised of people who want to be lied to. The problem is the relative size of that population segment.

"Bill Clinton, along with Jefferson, Kennedy and Martin Luther King, ''made human errors, but they struggled to do humanity good . . .''

So does the garbage man as he removes your garbage and unceramoniously tosses the empty can in the gutter. After all, he is preventing the rats and diseases that accompany that waste you accumulated.

More to the point, on the swift vets' first major allegation -- Christmas in Cambodia -- the Kerry campaign has caved.
...but not before the denial came that Kerry had "never said" he was "in" Cambodia, only that he was "near" it, and that too was a lie. Here's the link to the Kerry Waffles list:

Where are the people of New Jersey???????????????

I would be OUTRAGED if if lived there!

That this govenor so mocked the need for the genuine security of the peoples of his state ( especially as it relates to terrorism ), that he put a homosexual lover with no experience to head the Homeland Security there while turning down Louis Freeh for the post, SAYS IT ALL!

This man should not be allowed to stay in office ANOTHER MINUTE!

I don't know where the people of New Jersy are, but I know I would be IN THE STREETS making noise about getting this man who put MY SECURITY AT RISK out of there PRONTO!
