I've seen more insensitive comments in the last three days on hurricane threads than I care to, and they disgust me..

My heartfelt and sincere condolences to you and your neighbors. You guys are in my prayers.

I absolutely agree with your comments. I can't imagine the heartache and suffering in those devastated communities. I can envision not wanting to evacuate, and can see myself as being somewhat stubborn about it. Would I have left? I might not have for all the reasons others have mentioned. I don't know.

I've had to live without electricity for 3 days after a severe wind storm (I had water and sewer)and NEVER want to have to do that again. In my case it was winter but I was able to cook and keep warm with a fireplace. Trying to beat the heat without ice, air-conditioning, or clean water seems overwhelming to me, and I'm 3000 miles away.

My prayers for strength, and safety for those in FL.
