Unlike Fran, who took her sweetass time moving through NC, if I remember correctly, Charley looks to be moving pretty quickly, at least so far. If it keeps up this pace it won't be as bad as Fran.

Yes - pray Charley is in a BIG hurry to get out of .....Dodga!

Fox News just showed a path that puts it East of the Raleigh area - later tomorrow PM. Moving FAST. Even that is too close for comfort for me.......packing up. Ready to go if needed.

I was in Raleigh during Fran -- lived in that apartment complex up on the hill behind Crabtree Valley Mall. Thought my car would be nice and safe in the parking lot with no trees around it. But I picked the ONE parking place in the ENTIRE lot that a tree from across the street picked to fall upon - my car was crushed.

This CA gal had never gone through a hurricane. I will never forget that night -- transformers going off like bombs. Luckily, I think we were on the same power grid as Rex Hospital so we were up and running within one day. But it took forever to put Raleigh back together after Fran.

Prayers for you all now in Charley's path! I'm in DC, but it looks like we'll just get the remnants of it....I'm hoping...
