Didn't Kerry also say it was President Nixon who sent him to Cambodia? Never mind that Nixon wasn't President yet!

Following the link the article states that hanoi john wouldn't have been able to tell the khmer rouge from the NVC especially in the DARK. That the early khmer rouge wore NVC clothing.

When it was seared (seared!) into his memory, it apparently cauterized his neurons.

-John Kerry- some selected, informative links...--

The Kerry-enablers and the shills in Big Media can spin and smear all they want- this subject is not going the way of Kathleen Wiley's cat- it has nine lives.

Everyone who gives a rip about honesty, and truth, and free speech, should give the SBV's a few dollars- it probably better spent and leveraged than money to politicians.

You people don't just get the new paradigm of "depends what the meaning of 'is' is". Let me deconstruct this for you.

Kerry remembers the following things:

  1. He remembers sitting in a gunboat in Cambodia in Christmas of 1968.
  2. He remembers being shot at by the Vietnames.
  3. He remembers being shot at by the Cambodians.
  4. He remembers being shot at by the Khmer Rouge.
  5. He remembers the President telling the American people he was not there.
  6. He remebers the President telling the American people that the troops were not in Cambodia.
  7. He has the memory seared in him that says before we send another generation into harm's way that we blah-blah-blah.

Okay? Now you silly people think that all of these recollections all the same and that the phrase "seared in me" refers to all of the recollections; but it only (would parse Kerry) refers to that last memory. But let's go beyond that, which statement is a lie?

#1? Well, he could say that he was mistaken and thought he was in Cambodia, but gee-whiz I guess he was wrong. No lie, just a mistake.

#2? Nope he was certainly shot at by the Vietnames.

#3? Nope - he THOUGHT they were Cambodians, but he was wrong - see #1.

#4? Nope - once again he thought they were Khmer Rouge, but, well, fog of war and all that.

#5? Nope - He certainly remembers the President saying that there were no troops in Cambodia - oh and don't confuse the issue by stating that Nixon wasn't president in December of 1968. The date 1968 only refers to Kerry sitting in the boat, not the date at which Nixon talked about Cambodia.

#6? Nope, see the refutation for #5.

#7? Nope, his seared-in memory only refers to the memory that we should not have another Vietnam - not the memories outlined in #1 through #6.

See how it easy it is? You don't really believe there is such a thing as truth do you?

Maybe the moderator could change the title on this thread to something like: Comprehensive Thread for Various Versions of Kerry's Christmas in Cambodia Stories.

We need one good comprehensive thread [this thread?] that has all the 'Christmas in Cambodia' links and Kerry's various versions and statements about it.

We can add this thread to these other compilations:

It certainly looks as though Kerry never was in Cambodia; even his camp now seems to be saying that he was only "near" the country. So, would it not be considered perjury to go on to the floor of the Senate and enter into the records statements which you knew were false, just as it would if you made those statements under oath in court? On the other hand, if he really didn't know that he wasn't in Cambodia (yeah, right), does he have any regrets, shame even, and maybe even some feelings of embarrassment, about creating such a tempest in a teacup, maligning a US president, discrediting our war efforts, and giving encouragement to those who were always ready to believe the worst about our eforts in southeast asia?.......

It's possible, of course, that there's an innocent explanation for this, even if I can't quite think of one. Maybe Kerry was on a double-secret mission to Cambodia, such that everyone involved continues to deny it today. Except, inexplicably, for Kerry. . . . Or maybe his memory failed him -- though there's that "seared--seared--in" language to contend with when considering that hypothesis.

Actually, if you think about the film "The Manchurian Candidate" the brainwashed implanted "memories" are quite vivid. In fact, they are "seared" into their memories.

Has anyone flashed a Queen of Hearts card at John Kerry?

[Queen of hearts (English form)]

Extract from synopsis of original film:

It begins with an astonishing, nightmarish gut-punch of a scene, with Captain Marco (Sinatra) and his unit sitting around a hotel lobby listening to a bunch of old ladies talking about flowers. The camera circles around 360 degrees; when we reach the starting point again, the old ladies have changed into a band of sinister-looking enemy soldiers and we learn of a terrible brain-washing plot. We even learn that dedicated American soldiers can be coaxed to kill one of their own with little or no trouble.

The unit comes home with the story imbedded in their heads that Raymond Shaw (Laurence Harvey) saved their lives. Shaw wins the Congressional Medal of Honor, which his mother (Angela Lansbury) and stepfather, Senator John Iselin (James Gregory), begin to use to their advantage in the upcoming campaign.

Shaw has been hypnotized into a fearless, remorseless assassin; his trigger is the red queen in a deck of cards. His brainwashing is so effective that he kills his one true love, Jocelyn (Leslie Parrish) and her gentle father Senator Jordan (John McGiver) -- Raymond's mother's sworn enemy.

Meanwhile, Marco has been plagued with terrible nightmares and suspects that everything may not be peachy-keen.

Sound familiar?  So, why is it only members of his crew support him?  Could it be that they were captured, programmed and then returned?  Enquiring minds want to know.

Seriously, there are some times when movies unintentionally provide a perfect mirror of real life right at the time they are released.  The China Syndrome is one.  Wag the Dog is another.  Is the newly released remake of The Manchurian Candidate, are we seeing another unintended synchronicity?
