---Question: Do you honestly believe National Security Adviser Sandy Berger is just a misunderstood careless slob who inadvertently stuffed top secrete highly classified documents in his pants and socks and he really only has the country's best interest's at heart?
---
Are you people not aware that Berger was just EXONERATED?
Sure, there were underge "children" at Abu Garib. Children formerly known to lugging around AK-47s and shooting Marines. It is clear by testimony that many undeage fighters participated in the April insurgency.
Children used in warfare is commonplace in the non-European world. The Shan Rebellion in Burma, various African insurgencies, even in El Salvador. Combantants are combantants regardless of age. If they're big enough to weild an automatic rifle and kill soldiers, then they be big enough to be tossed into prison.
The "children" argument leaves me cold.
Wasn't much of an exoneration. His behavior was odious, irresponsible and unprofessional. They couldn't prove a viable motive, that's all.
From here:
National Archives spokeswoman Susan Cooper said the issue isn't over.
"This is still under investigation, and the National Archives is not commenting on the case," she said.
But Cooper said the concern all along has been about the copying and removal of documents.
"And that's where the investigation stands now from our perspective," she said.
The Justice Department does not talk about ongoing investigations.
It is illegal to remove classified documents, originals or copies, from the National Archives.
Are you people
I've read this comment from you now .... 8 times ? You have an account here . Tell me why the posting of this thread had to be arrainged ?
Totally unaware of that one. Any link to that story?
Read the details, my friend, not just the headlines. He was exonerated from the charge that the withheld information from the 9/11 Commission. He has not been exonerated from charges of mishandling classified information - the National Archives states that this is still under investigation.
I am aware that a story was reported in the media saying that and then it was evidently debunked.
Look past the source (I'm not Newsmax fan/booster in particular) and look at the fact they report speaking directly with the chief spokesperson of the Archives.
Archives Denies Report That Berger Is in the Clear
Is there additional information on this subject?
"Are you people not aware that Berger was just EXONERATED?"
Really. Tell us what actually happened in the archives, what Berger did and did not do. Give sources.
Last I heard, the 'exonerated' story was refuted by Archives spokesman. I'm open to persuasion, I dont think the whole story has been established one way or 'tother.
