Rome announces security alert step up
Threats from group associated with al-Qaida target flights leaving from Rome's airport.
Maariv News Service
Italian authorities are increasing security measures for flights departing to the US and Israel, following serious threats made by a terrorist organization.
The security measures being taken include increasing security around passengers in the security inspection area and the baggage x-ray zones. The number of guards, aided by dogs trained to detect explosives, was increased are they now patrol the airport, Italian news agencies report.
The report reveals that threats have been received from a group that identifies itself as the Abu Assaf al-Massri Brigades. At least one of the threats was published on the Internet today.
The same group has taken responsibility for terror incidents in the past, such the Madrid train bombings five months ago.

Perhaps. Italy has been ramping up their security for some weeks now, even while some officials there have been saying that they are not taking the threats too seriously. (If you can believe that some of them even say that. Actually, that sounds alot like the libs and john kerry here in the U.S., doesn't it?!)
I have it in my last summary, however the specified flights to US and Israel were not mentioned.
