Woops! My apologies. It appears it's on the VERGE of being demolished, but is still standing today. Can someone confirm?
Suspicious Taxi Driver Delays El Al Flight for A Day (UK - El Al Flight - 8/3/04)
Israels national airline El Al delayed a flight from London to Tel Aviv for a day because the flight crew refused to travel to Heathrow with a taxi driver who looked suspicious.
Weather in London was especially bad on Tuesday when the flight was supposed to leave for Tel Aviv and the crew could not find alternate transport from the hotel to the airport, said the airline.
According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, the taxi driver had a Middle Eastern appearance that raised the crews suspicion.
El Al put up the stranded passengers in a hotel for a night.
It should be noted that El Al does not endanger its crews or passengers and acts with utmost caution, the statement said. Link to Article
What post number had the drawing??
It (the Astrodome) was replaced by the new stadium a couple of years ago.
They were debating last year what to do with it.
I cannot imagine any extremely large event taking place there, but possible I suppose. But large events taking place all the time in the other facilities in the complex.
I was helping the local GOP schedule a large convention (5,000 delegates) right after 9/11, we decided to have it elsewhere (not the Astroarena) because of an auto show that was going to interfere too much.
The new stadium, new arena/meeting center, and the old arena are co-located in the same complex . . .
I wonder when the first Texans game might be.
