Whatchya doing up buddy?
If everyone gathers all the pertinent info about suspicions of Obama I will gladly present it to the Il GOP when I volunteer for Keyes!
Chicago this weekend:
STROLL. Despite its lackluster claim-to-fame as the "third oldest art fair in the city," the 47TH ANNUAL GOLD COAST ART FAIR remains one of the area's best-loved and best-attended art festivals. Wander between Clark Street and Franklin Street and Erie Street to Superior Streets for free, looking at juried booths of sculpture, jewelry, glass, painting and photography. Bring the kids to their own craft area. Hours are 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
RUN. "Fluffernutter" sandwiches may not be low-carb, but they're probably what the King would have wanted after a 5K run. You, too, can indulge after the SEVENTH ANNUAL ELVIS IS ALIVE 5K race (200 W. Fullerton, 312-587-3338, www.signmeupsports.com). Arrive in Lincoln Park at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday for registration. Be at the starting line at 6:00 p.m. in your best Elvis outfit. The $30 fee benefits the Medical Research Junior Board Foundation of Children's Memorial Hospital. You can run off those extra peanut butter calories.
JIVE. For just $10 you can listen to nine singers from independent music label Southport Records as part of the SEVENTH ANNUAL WOMEN OF SOUTHPORT FESTIVAL. Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., April Aloisio, Katherine Davis and Martha Lorin and others will jam at Andy's Jazz Club (11 E. Hubbard St., 312-642-6805, www.chicagosound.com or www.andysjazzclub.com). Free CD giveaways and surprise guests are part of the planned festivities.
