WASHINGTON Jordanian terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi (search), believed responsible for a series of attacks, kidnappings and beheadings in Iraq, has been trying to communicate with Al Qaeda leader Usama bin Laden, a senior defense official tells FOX News.
Within the past several days, the anonymous defense official said, a courier had been intercepted inside Iraq bearing a message from Zarqawi to bin Laden. The official would not reveal the contents of the message or exactly when and where its bearer had been found.
Zarqawi's Tawhid and Jihad (search) (Monotheism and Holy War) militant group has claimed to have abducted several foreigners in Iraq in the past few months, and to have killed some of them, including American independent contractor Nicholas Berg (search). American officials believe Zarqawi himself held the knife that decapitated Berg.
"Hello Mullah, Hello Fatwa..."
"Life is bad at, Camp Fallujah"

Hey! That's really asking an awful lot! Especially at such a vey series time! :O)
That would be 1769.

Hmmmmmm.
In arguing with them, I much prefer to actually argue against the position they are taking - as you did in your post - as opposed to arguing with a phantom position that they are not asserting.
There is actually a difference between your sentence and this one: "There's no connection between the Iraqi government and bin Laden."
It is a difference that we would do well to appreciate.
There's your idiotic post 98 in entirety.
You assert that there is a difference of importance (to you) between those two sentences. One who has some sense of language might properly ask, "Why?". The obvious assertion you are making is that although there may be, and have been, terrorists operating in Iraq under Hussein's regime, they were simply there unbeknownst to the great dictator.
Patent horse dung.
You know it. And, as I stated, the 911 Commission related (unanimously) that there were clear contacts among those groups, and that Bin Laden explored with Hussein's government the wisdom of his taking "sanctuary" in Iraq when the heat came on in Afghanistan.
It was idiotic to maintain in the face of all the evidence to the contrary that the terrorists and Saddumb had no connections, as you have maintained over and over again, for lo, these many such posts during your tenure at FR. I would say that you've lost all credibility in this subject, but it was clear you had none to begin with. You're the type of person who believes Joe Wilson IV was an honest man --- and again, despite the clear evidence to the contrary over a year ago.
'He has his own intelligence services that gives him briefings, he don't need our freakin CIA briefings...
Wilson, Clarke, Burgler, Hillary....leave any out?'''

You left out "StepMoney", she no doubt has her own little spy agency created with the Tides Foundation, its #1 job is to keep an eye on F'n at all times (no more African Queen) and #2 job is to keep those cameras pinned on W's window, she really wants to put a picture of W in the Enquirer wearing tighty whiteys.
(swoon)
Your imagination is equaled only by your mendacity.
You lie and claim that I've argued a lack of connection between Saddam and AQ. All I have state is the indisputable fact that the presence in terrorist within the boundaries of a state does not implicate the state. Either you understand this simple truth and are making up lies or you are too much of an idiot to grasp it.
With regard to Wilson, the only argument you've ever seen me make on that topic is to refute those, yourself included, who continued to spread the falsehood that Plame's position was not covert.
If you can't make your arguments with out making up lies, you are pretty weak.
So when a cartoonist (Singe Wilkinson) created a cartoon that was based on a lie - I had to respond ...

here is what I said to our editor:
Contrary to a recent cartoon you published, the 9/11 Commission report cited numerous links between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda.
The 9/11 report mentions contacts going back to 1992, and reports: "Bin Laden himself met with a senior Iraqi intelligence officer in Khartoum in late 1994 and early 1995." A source reported Iraqi military bomb-making experts trained Al Qaeda in Sudan. In 1998, "two al Qaeda members reportedly went to Iraq to meet with Iraq intelligence." Also in July 1998, an Iraqi delegation traveled to Afghanistan, met with Bin Ladin and "offered Bin Ladin a safe haven in Iraq." Iraqi intelligence and Al Qaeda both helped set up and run the Ansar Al-Islam terror group in Iraq in 2001.
The 9/11 Commision reported just a portion of known links between Saddam and Al Qaeda, but what they cite is enough to refute the 'no links' myth.
This is the kind of cartoonish misinformation we are up against.
I hope the Iraqis are handling the interrogations on these folks! ;o)
just give it to someone at the DNC, they will be glad to pass it on to osama.
The terrorist leaders Abu Abbas and Abu Nidal both died in Iraq...Abu Abbas in our custody.
Ansar al-Islam terror leader Aso Hawleri, also known as Asad Muhammad Hasan, was captured in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul in 2003.
Ansar al-Islam's spiritual leader, Mullah Krekar, was taken into custody in the Netherlands in September 2002 and later was deported to Norway.
Ahmed Walid Raguib al-Baz, a 1st Lieutenant in the terrorist Palestine Liberation Front, was Killed on 3/20/03 near Baghdad.
Abu Nidal terror operative Khala Khadr Al-Salahat was captured in Iraq in April, 2003.
A Malaysia-based Iraqi national, Ahmed Hikmat Shakir, who worked at the Kuala Lumpur airport, facilitated the arrival of two of the September 11 hijackers, Khalid al Midhar and Nawaq al Hamzi (who were at the controls of American Airlines Flight 77 when it crashed into the Pentagon), for an operational-planning meeting in Kuala Lumpur in January, 2000. Shakir helped them through the passport and customs process upon their arrival in Kuala Lumpur. Shakir then traveled with the hijackers to the Kuala Lumpur Hotel. Shakir got his airport job through a contact at the Iraqi Embassy. (Hayes says that Iraq routinely used its embassies as staging grounds for intelligence operations; sometimes more than half of the alleged diplomats were intelligence operatives.) Another man at that al Qaeda operational meeting in the Kuala Lumpur Hotel was Tawfiz al Atash, a top bin Laden lieutenant later identified as the mastermind of the October 12, 2000, attack on the USS Cole. Also in attendance was Ramzi bin al Shibh, the operational planner of the 9/11 attacks. The meetings lasted three or four days. Documents uncovered in Iraq listing the rosters of officers in Saddam's Fedayeen (the elite paramilitary group run by Saddam's son Uday) include the name of Lt. Col. Ahmed Hikmat Shakir...http://www.congressaction.info/2004/06202004.htm
Ahmad Khalil Ibrahim Samir al-Ani, former Iraq Consul, reportedly met with Mohammed Atta in Prague shortly before 9/11, Captured in Iraq on 7/02/03.
Abdul Rahman Yasin, Indicted fugitive from 1993 WTC bombing, $25 Million reward, last seen in Iraq.
Lets also not forget that 1993 WTC bomber Ramzi Yousef entered the U.S. with an Iraqi passport.
I've reposted your entire argument of #98.
Everyone can see whether I've mischaracterized your unfounded implications for themselves. I note that you have not supported any of those implications, but simply decided you are better off attempting to argue semantics.
The truth is that Hussein DID support the terrorists, and DID have a connection with Bin Laden and that terrorist organizations WERE operating in Iraq.
As far as Plume/ Wilson and whether she was a covert agent or not, you have to argue with the 911 Commission's report (unamimous) that clearly states she was NOT in a covert position when it was revealed she had recommended Lyin'Joe. I'm glad I read that in the report - I didn't know it before that, and unlike you, had not argued the point either way. I suppose that in your mind the report of the 911 Commission (unanimous) was spreading a lie, too. You live in a strange world of fabrications.
