TYRANNY ALERT!

OSHKOSH POLICE CONDUCT DOOR TO DOOR GUN CONFISCATIONS

Shooting of Oshkosh police officer results in knee jerk neighborhood gun grab

Oshkosh, Wis. -- Following the shooting of an Oshkosh police officer Saturday night, area residents were forced from their homes, their lawful firearms being confiscated by police.

The Oshkosh Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics Unit responded to the area, with a K-9 police dog in pursuit of the perpetrator who was reported to have fled on foot.

Citizens' guns were seized through searches of area homes. The police promised to return the firearms after forensic tests proved they were not involved in the crime. The injured officer's name was withheld, but media reports indicate his condition is not life-threatening.

"The message is: Hand over your guns, now!" said Corey Graff, executive director of Wisconsin Gun Owners Inc. "This is a blatant case of guilty-until-proven-innocent and an abuse of police power."

Still, residents in the area are furious about the home invasions by police and what they see as theft of their property. Although early reports are unclear, they indicate a search warrant was issued for two homes, yet additional home owners also had firearms confiscated.

"We want the perpetrator of this crime caught and brought to justice just like everyone else," said Graff. "But that doesn't mean the police should trample citizens' 4th amendment protections, steal lawful private property and enter the home without reasonable suspicion or warrant."

One homeowner in the area said his guns were taken by police, guns that hadn't left his gun safe since last hunting season. Another victim of the police searches -- an elderly women -- reported waking up to officers' searching her home in the early morning hours.

The Oshkosh Northwestern reported, "Residents were not being allowed to return to their homes by press time."

In this particular case, the rat is a Republican.

Tell me something, Lunatic--if you or I were shot in a neighborhood, do you think for a second the the police would evacuate everyone from their homes in a 6 block area? Why are cops more important than people--especially considering the policeman was knicked in the arm, got a bandage and left the hospital?

Is there any basis to suspect Fringe of being a civilian?

I have had the cops show up at my door at 0300 because my dog was barking at some teenage idiots who were wandering the neighborhood. I opened the door pissed off and with a .45 stuck in the the front of my shorts, no shirt, and upon see the firearm the cops told me that I had to give them the firearm immediately. I informed them that they could KMA and reached behind the door for my 12 gage. Upon hearing the round load, their attitude changed real fast. I informed them that I am in my private residence and that I do not believe that they are police officers and will be exercising my "Make My Day Law" if they do not leave immediately. I do love the laws in Colorado.

They left real quick and about 5 min later I got a call stating that the police would be there to confiscate my firearms to ensure public safety. My response was "No Problem should be fun for you, I will not give over any of my firearms to anyone and my dog is now in the house."

The idiot on the phone stated that I was a hazard to the public safety and that they had a duty to disarm me. I informed this idiot that I never left my house and never threatened anyone with a firearm, but when I am awakened at 3am I will answer the door with a gun. He told me that this was unacceptable and that the police WOULD disarm me.

I then informed this idiot that I have already called all 3 news networks in Denver and that I had not broken any laws I would be defending my property and house with all of my firearms to my ability. He then asked what did I mean by that? I informed him that I did have a German Mauser 7.65 and all of the rounds that I did have in the house are armor piercing, had not reloaded for hunting yet, and none of the armor they had would stop the rounds.

For some reason he hung up and called back in about 20 min apologizing for the inconvenience and I would not be bothered again.

My Brother is a cop in Aurora, CO and since he got on the force his attitude has changed drastically.

I really am surprised you are still with us. I would have expected to hear about an armored vehicle crashing through your front door and all your 'stockpile' of weapons being displayed on the network news after your death.

My Brother is a cop in Aurora, CO and since he got on the force his attitude has changed drastically.

Do you mean your brother's attitude has shifted towards a police-state mentality now that he's a police officer or that he sees it first hand and believes you now?

Yes, that would be true. Educated people are always of interest, especially citizens who understand the Constituion.

Yes, but it sounds as though the pot-growing operation was uncovered while the owners were away, meaning they did not give consent. Any lawyer worth his salt--in fact, any lawyer who stayed half-sober during his first year of law school--should be able to get this tossed.

Some lawyer is going to make a LOT of money on this. I wish that I had the case.
