Who cares if they weren't originals? He still committed a crime. It may have simply been for CYA purposes for him and his boss so they could practice revisionist history as to what they did or didn't do at the time. Either way, he should go to jail.

Who cares? It is the reason of the theft. If they are just copies and nothing irreplacable was taken, then it is not comprehensible why he did it. In that posture, the "slopiness" nonesense even begins to make sense, since he had no motive. But that is exactly what Clinton wants people to believe. And that story works so long as the irreplacable nature of the handwritten notes [on the verious drafts of the Clinton White House copies that were in the National Archives]is not disclosed or reported. Andrea Mitchell got her mission notes on how she is to report this story and that's all she does.

I disagree. As I stated in my post, it's not implausible that he took them just so he and his cronies had access to them to see what they wrote/said way back when. They were asleep at the switch with regard to al Qaeda in the 1990's and they need to CYA.
