At least when H.L. Mencken trashed the South (see his essay
The Sahara of the Bozart) he did it with style and wrote well. And, coming from Maryland, he was enough of a Southerner to have the right to criticize the South (though I wish he hadn't done so for the Yankees' sport).
Maher doesn't even write or speak well.
