The other day I was standing on a crowded street corner waiting for the stop light to change when a telephone rang. At least a dozen people in the crowd reached for their pocket or purse to see if their phone was ringing. There is no doubt about it; cell phones have caught on like wildfire. I am not surprised by the popularity of the mobile phone. After all, they do offer constant communications from just about anywhere. What does amaze me, however, is the popularity of cell phones with cameras.
Today's cell phones can be used to send and receive e-mail, play games, send text messages, surf the Internet, and keep track of appointments. Yet it is the ability to double as a digital camera that has people excitedly purchasing new phones. These devices were introduced several years ago in Japan and have been available in the US for about two years. They are so well liked that some have predicted that they will be the most popular consumer device in history.

I thought this was going to be blockbuster until I discovered that this Sandy Berger is a chick.
No chance he asked the guards to leave the room so he could photo and email the docs to Clinton, Kerry, and others is there?
Interesting question. I didn't think he'd be permitted to make calls from that room.
Also wonder whether those camera phones have enough resolution to display text. The one I had was really grainy.
I've heard that they subpeonaed (I can't spell it) his cell phone records. I have no doubt that both he and Bubba have those disposable, untraceable cell phones that drug dealers use.
He WAS a National Security Advisor. What kind of toys would come with the job? Not the cheap ones.
He had access to the highest quality equipment available, and we already know he's got no problem with theft.
I was afraid when I saw this headline, that the site was bogus--after reading the great article on National archive protocol. Glad that this is another Sandy Berger.

To those wondering what kind of resolution might be offered for text reading by a camera cell phone, we find this...
The Mova N504iS, an i-mode camera phone manufactured by NEC Corp of Japan for NTT DoCoMo Corp of Japan, uses its internal camera and an OCR function to read character data such as e-mail addresses or universal resource locator (URL) codes from business cards and magazines (Fig 2a). It can then send e-mail to the address, or access the URL. The OCR function is implemented through the internal camera, a video graphics array (VGA) compatible device with 310,000 effective pixels. The recognition function is restricted to only alphanumerics and a few symbols, so that "the recognition rate is even better than commercial OCR software", according to Naoyuki Kouyama, manager, Engineering, Mobile Terminal Development Department, NEC Saitama, Ltd of Japan.
It doesn't matter which "Sandy Berger" we're talking about here. I believe that this is exactly what happened.
Well even though this is not the same Berger this does raise an interesting point. He apparently asked staff to leave the room numerous times so that he could make confidential calls on his cell phone. You gotta wonder if his cell phone had a camera on it?
I wonder if the FBI checked out Burglers phone or email?

"He was supposed to be monitored at all times but kept asking the monitor to leave so he could make private calls," a senior law enforcement source told the Daily News.
Berger also took "lots of bathroom breaks" that apparently aroused some suspicion, the source added.
The same archives monitors told the FBI that Berger was observed stuffing his socks with handwritten notes about files he reviewed that were going to the Sept. 11 panel. It is prohibited to make notes about the secret files and leave with them without special approval.
"Stuffed socks and pockets is real," the senior law enforcement official said. "The (theft) was reported by the guards."
Sounds like Bergler is indeed a stocking stuffer. The 'Rats are once again brazenly lying. I'm guessing that the 'Rats leaked this story now because the 911 Commission's report is giving them cover for the Bergler.
