LOL
Not really.......
Maybe it's time for a definition:

What angers me is that the government knows this crap is going on and refuses to do a damm thing about it.

Actually the along with the media refuse to acknowledge it for the most part. Snopes.com has the Jacobson story as false. Despite the fact that others have similar stories (such as the mirror to the cockpit). Don't want to scare us (we might stop flying or spending money), who cares if we might become vigilant (oh, year perhaps that is bad now too :-)

Except to spend $40 Billion of our tax dollars on "homeland security", while actually doing nothing to prevent these camel-jockeys from boarding the planes in the first place.

I said it on 9-12-01 and I'll say it again - this country doesn't have the stomach to do what is necessary to prevent terrorism in America, and this article is proof.

I just feel bad prematurely for the next victims of the predictable airplane hijacking/crashing.

How could you possibly know what the government is doing? I suspect there is a great deal of activity behind the scenes that you are clueless about. How do you know that these weren't government agents acting this way to test an air marshall or passenger reaction? The government must be doing something right or we would have had many more attacks over the past three years.

There are probably alot of things going on behind the scenes that we can't know about because it's classified stuff. Certainly the deployment of FAM's is a highly sensitive bit of info, as are specific date the crew is supposed to take. I'd not be suprised to see Navy SEALS on flights that have a high risk of being hijacked. Especially if intelligence shows soemthing is afoot. There are likely some very lethal force options available to SEALS/Special Forces that can take out subjects without puching a hole in the fusalage. Perhaps a lethal version of a Tazer, My concern is one FAM is NOT going to be able to control multiple hijackers on a plane. The citizens need to stand up and fight like demons...no mercy, no quarter - take the enemy out as swiftly, and a violently as possible - in so doing we send a signal to terroists that the only ones that are going to die on a hijack attempt ar the terrorists.
