Slips don't generate revenue unless they are filled and bars and restaurant generate nothing unless filled. I have seen this at the Charleston Yacht club (they don't have any trouble filling slips, but the restaurants in the yacht club went broke...). I suppose if there is a demand, the slips will be filled.

Western, by the way, avg between 3 to 6 million pounds of shrimp a year depending on the production of the boats.
Price varies from 3 to 6 pound for tails, so this is a pretty significant impact for the area, not counting the downstream benefits i.e. fuel, supply sales, dry goods, etc...
And they pay property taxes, something this development won't do.
