I mean that when the average store costs 450K in government handouts to employees, I consider that 450K to be a government subsidy.
Again, I prefer Target. TARGET. I've rarely been to Costco, and don't have a membership. They do, I hear, have some tasty plasma tvs at affordable prices which may have me rethink that membership.

I can't give up costco for Sams club....their merchandise and groceries are just not up to par. I do send local right wingers the equivalent amount in donation to whatever my costco rebate check is.
Anyone know anything about BJ's wholesale?

Thank you... all I try to do is point out that Wal-Mart is no shopping panacea and ya get jumped on.

I get a big kick out of people who heap abuse upon WalMart for selling products made in 'Red China', then turn around and run to Target and buy the very same 'Red Chinese' produced goods.
Does anyone have any figures on what percentage of Target's inventory was made or assembled in China?

How timely. We switched to Costco 2 years ago because they were offering a free membership and we are switching back to Sam's on Monday.
Costco has been weighed, measured, and found wanting. They are so inconsistent as to inventory. Nary a ballpoint pen to be found. Soup stocks are like the lottery. Two registers open at prime time. Useless people on the floor.
American capitalism works again.

I wouldn't declare Walmart a hero only that one point.
WalMart is lining the Chinese Commies pockets with hard currency that will one day come back to bite us in the A**
