"" 'Hey, maybe I'm guilty for having all this, and I want to make believe I'm splitting it with the less fortunate.' ""

I am now persona non grata for asking where the salesclerks, lawncare people, maids and assorted and sundry servants live while I was staying in the Hamptons recently.

How incredibly gauche and classless I am to ask such a question!

Btw, not a few democrat elites loathe the Kerry/Edwards/Clinton troika and will be voting for President Bush very quietly...

She had to be pretty lonely in that cast (BtVS).

SMG is supposedly a Republican as well, I think she plays the "keep quiet as I want to work" card. I can see what you mean with the rest though, especially the writing of that show. The first two seasons were great, the third was pretty good (Caufield appeared at that time), but I lost interest after that season. I started watching halfway through four, thought "this is crap" and never watched again.

Joss Whedon (the creator of BtVS) is a huge lefty. But that didn't silence Emma, bless her. And I've also heard that SMG is a quiet GOPer as well.

Regardless, I loved the show from beginnig to end. :) I'm waiting for the season 7 DVD set so I can complete my collection!

I forgot to add that Patricia Heaton must feel very lonely on her show as well, though she apparently does not care what others think as she is not afraid to speak her mind (her O'Reilly interview is a classic). I don't know where Raymond or Robert fall, but the parents are both huge libs in real life.

James Woods is a very articulate and bright guy who graduated from MIT with a major in polisci. He's probably the only one of these actors with that kind of pedigree, yet his face is never on the news - even when he witnessed a 9/11 dry run and had the foresight to contact the authorities. You think Leo Dicaprio is together enought to do that?

I got seasons 1 & 2 on DVD, and will eventually get 3. The others I have not seen though I am curious to see the final two episodes to see how they wrapped it up. I never watched Angel beyond a minute or two here and there (literally) but tuned in to see the final two on that. I was shocked that Whedon had a senator figure who was remarkably close to Hillary(!) in appearance and attitude.

I want to beef about something.

If you check imdb, you find that Jim Caviezel, all of a sudden, can't find Hollywood work. The things an actor is working on right now are listed as pre-production. For him, there is nothing in the works.

The final ep was kind of a disappointment (to me, anyway) becaue we really didn't see what happened to Buff and the rest of the gang. The only hint we've had since then was a mention or two on ANGEL that Buffy and Dawn were living in England now. Cordelia died on the show, as well (bitter for me, since I've had as HUGE crush on Charisma Carpenter since the series premiere :)

Or, alternatively, he is at the point where he can afford to only work on the projects of his choosing. You don't see a Tom Hanks or Julia Roberts film every three months.

Oh, I'm afraid I'm with you. BtVS became and remained one of my guilty pleasures, followed by Angel. I'm still bummed that the latter was cancelled; last ep was amazing.

I groaned (and still do) at Whedon's stupid pc-curveball with Willow, and the fact that he evidently can write anything and everything except for even one genuine Christian character... but golly, what a creative writer. The dialogue, the characters, the plot directions. "Hush," "Once More, With Feeling," "The Body" (do I have that title right?)... need I say more?

And what a talented cast.

Really a pity he's such a clueless dolt when it comes to God and related issues.

Dan

I don't think it's a coincidence that BUFFY's popularity went DOWN after that swerve. Tara was the subject of much derision on the internet boards. Most folks wanted her with Oz. "Hush" and "Once More...With Feeling" were two of the best prime-time TV episodes in history. Every year in TV GUIDE, several writers would lament the fact that BtVS would always be shut out in the major Emmy nominations (it did receive quite a few nominations in the areas of makeup, hairstyling, and technical). SMG received a Golden Globe Best Actress nomination in 2001.

I hope you are right.

When giving him the role, Mel warned Jim that taking the role in "The Passion" could cost him his Hollywood career from the wrath of the godless. Jim realized that perhaps it was for a moment like this that he entered acting.

It would be immoral for Mel to bask in hundreds of millions of dollars in profits while Jim Caviezel is ruined and Mel is a moral man. I would like to believe that with the totally unanticipated profits he has guaranteed his future.

I don't know about that. Tom Hanks seems to be popping up everywhere lately.
