O'Malley Rumours

Posted on 07/19/2004 1:37:42 PM PDT by xcullen

There are a lot of rumours going around that one of the principal speakers at the Dem Convention is barely holding together some career threatening info. Martin O'Malley, Mayor of Baltimore, is out of the house due to an affair (or many) and reports are there may be a pregnancy. Now I have got this from two separate sources and they are reliable (and not politically hostile to O'Malley). His father-in-law is pretty powerful guy and his wife is a former judge. Anybody hear anything on this?

No not yet, but I'd like to. Be leaving work in a bit and hear the local radio shows.

I have heard about the affairs, didn't know he was literally in the doghouse though. He is a Dem rising star, if he doesn't screw up look for him to become governor and then maybe VP or Prez candidate someday. He is young, talented and goodlooking, he has done some good in Baltimore.

And people say they broke the mold after Beezelbubba.

Pray tell us more. O'Malley is the new big shot in the Maryland Democratic Party, biding his time on whether to take either Sarbanes Senate seat if Sarbanes retires or dies, take Mikulski's lifetime Senate seat in the case that a woman 4'10" and weighing 275 might croak at any minute, or to run for governor, problematical since Ehrlich is the only Republican in Maryland who could defeat O'Malley. A caveat is that O'Malley is the son-in-law of Attorney General for Life Curran.

O'Malley is an arrogant fellow, thinks he's a guitarist, but is actually an empty suit who runs the disaster show called Baltimore only due to the exhaustion and incompetence of the black political leadership of that doomed city.

Remember, he is on the 'outs' with the DNC after his public row with the candidate.

he has done some good in Baltimore.

Mostly hype, IMO. His "B'LIEVE" campaign is a Potemkin charade. Murders and crime havent dropped one iota since he's come into office, corruption and inept gov't are at the same or higher levels, and as far as "The City that Reads".. name three !

LOL - ain't it the sad truth!

I am SO SICK of those stupid stickers (double smirk to you idiots who put them on your cars!), bulletin boards and banners everywhere!

BELIEVE

What....???

Hell, they just started appearing a few years ago, and I had no idea what it was about, and certainly not where it came from! I never heard any1, including O'Malley, promote this "wise saying" slogan!

At least Schmoke had a "sensical" slogan in "the City that Reads"! LOL

I think they are colluding to keep it on the down low as long as possible. Once he speaks at this convention the Dems are gonna fall in love with him. Duncan is a relatively conservative Dem that could take him out for all those positions if he starts to reek.

Let's don't spread the rumors, the Democrats may dump Kerry and Edwards in favor of this Bill Clinton mentor. After all, the Dems prefer amoral and dishonest candidates.

Of course, we all prefer the more accurate wise slogans....

the City that Breeds

the City that Bleeds

Any more?

Is that sort of like what the Iron Sheik used to say during interviews? Remember "America, Hoch-Ptoeey".

This is an old old story. And not only can the source not spell "rumor," Mrs. O'Malley is a current, not a former, judge. If there were anything to it, it would have come out long ago. I wouldn't go to the UK or Canada for up-to-date gossip on Maryland politics.
