I thought girlie man was someone who was a sissy or afraid to stand up to someone when being bullied, i.e. meek. Is this Senator now saying that homosexuals and women have no backbone or that we are weak? That's what she is implying with her politically correct speech. Boy, now I am offended.

Well there was a phrase from eons ago which my grandmother used that went "So put that in your pipe and smoke it!" as a kind of tell off. The belief is that the idiom refers to the romanced image of a thinking or contemplative person smoking a pipe (think 1950's & earlier) so they're telling you to think about what they've just said, reconsider your opinion.
Exactly what he was using the phrase for in saying the Dems are puppets of unions & trial lawyers rather than serving *The People*. They're cowards who serve themselves, acquies in fear of the power of special interests, and work not for the public good they've taken an oath to serve. This has nothing to do with gays or gender and the common people know this phrase and its SNL origin. This strategy will fail against Arnold.

Just as the mayor of sanfanceeeesco drew negative attention, it seems the homosexuals advocates are in PR damage control hypersensitivity mode.
Are these Democrats choosing to be categorized with the "girlie men?" They could easily distance themselves from the label by working to finish/pass the budget.
If they weren't representing the unions, trial lawyers, or other special interests instead of all the people of CA, then they would have no fear of being associated with Gov. Schwarzenegger's "girlie men" category.
By complaining about the label "girlie men," these Democrats acknowledge that they have the corruption that Schwarzenegger pointed out, and they acknowledge that they are afraid to highlight their dedication to special interests. They fear Californians will see the truth to the label.

'Girlie man' is a negative term. It is inappropriate for a governor or anybody to name-call someone who, whether he likes it or not, has been elected by a majority of people in a district to represent them.
this obviously shows her stupidity..... such that her reply basically states that she believes that the system is perfect and that there is no need to question what our elected politician chooses to do, because the majority of us chose him or her. Her ignorance goes beyond that also, because the comment is comming from a politian that was chosen by the distrust in the system.
