Wilson told the public that Niger had denied the uranium connection. But the Senate found that Wilson's report said that the Niger government had confirmed that Iraq had tried to buy uranium.
Wilson told the public that his report proved that certain documents showing that Saddam had approached Niger were unreliable, and were probably forged. According to the Senate, Wilson never even saw the documents, which did not come into CIA custody until months after Wilson's report.
Wilson had very publicly complained that the White House had ignored his report. But the Senate Intelligence Committee found that the CIA never sent the Wilson report to the White House.

I didn't know that "...Wilson's report said that the Niger government had confirmed that Iraq had tried to buy uranium."

That's what so funny about this...he knew that they were trying to buy uranium, but then went on to fabricate a story that they didn't so Bush could be said to be a liar.
A liar set up an honest man in a time of war. What a nutbag. This crap is treasonous. So is the media who propped this guy up maybe knowing he was totally full of shit.

Wilson once again revealed to be the hack that he is... and his wife the CIA typing pool lackey that she is.....
The main stream media not running stories ad nausea about this disappointing...
Those things said, it is too early on a Saturday morning to put a more constructive thought together....
Would someone wake me when the democrats decide to tell the truth...
Never mind I may never get up again if that is the case...

Didn't Wilson spew his lies under oath? If so, why in the hell is he not being prosecuted?

Wilson and someone with the facts (committee member?) are scheduled to be on PBS news with Lehrer on Monday night. Can't wait to see how he will try to spin this one.

Didn't Wilson spew his lies under oath?I'm not sure, but we know Clinton did and look what happened!

For the record, Dave Kopel is not a conservative hatchet man. He voted for Ralph Nader.
To: Peach
Has Wilson's report been included in any of these committee pdfs? Was it ever made public?

HEY, CBS, I'M WAITING FOR THE '60 MINUTES' HIT PIECE THAT PINS JOE WILSON DOWN ON HIS LIES. (Remember when they used to do that kind of thing, and weren't just making hour-long propaganda for the DNC?)

The only hope we have for getting this out to the general public is Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, and possibly (note I said possibly) Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough.
I think the one guy that COULD grill Joe Wilson on this, if he would, is Tim Russert. Didn't he have Wilson on Meet the Depressed at one time? Well, it's time to get him on there again and confront his lying, oppotunistic butt. Does anyone have any idea what the chance of that happening is?

Maybe their saving it for a Sunday expanded version of the story...
then again, maybe not.

Russert's a Party-Dem. He'd never interrogate Wilson, particularly not in this election year.
Hannity would. I don't know how successful he'd be. But he would.

You may be right but, I do remember the grilling he gave Hillary when she was running for the U.S. Senate. I thought he did well then.
