Yet more reason for optimism. I hope the whole lot of them die bitter, depressed, and friendless. And broke. Jane Fonda, and her boy Kerry, too.

I long ago cancelled my subscriptions to the local fish-wrapper and to the national weeklies. I subscribe to National Review, Chronicles, and the New Criterion, and I get my daily news from Drudge, Free Republic, and a few newspapers on the internet. (e.g. London Telegraph.) I watch Britt Hume and occasionally O'Reilly, and that's it.

There's a tremendous movement away, an exodus, from the mainstream press

Music to my ears! Let it be so!

All,

I have just finished reading Brent Bozell's new book. I frankly was a bit disappointed.

Yes, the book is well written and engaging. And it amply documents the problem. But it doesn't spend much time talking about how the "mainstream" media is going to collapse.

Besides, I already knew most of the things documented in the book. So I didn't learn much. One exception to this was the story of how then Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris told the Media one week before the election to be careful about calling Florida before the folks in the panhandle voted. As most Freepers already know, this move cost Bush thousands of votes.

But this book could be useful for figuratively (or literally if you get violent) beating Liberals or clueless Moderates over the head when discussing Media Bias.

Actually, this book shows that bias isn't the real problem. It is the active collusion of news media folks with partisan causes.

If the liberal (mainstream) media collapses, the democrats will have to collapse too. Wow! There'll be no filibusters of judicial candidates, the Supreme Court will have a majority of young strict constructionists, there will be enough Republicans in both houses to send a Contitutional ammendment to the State Legislatures, and the President will have much less interference dealing with enemies foreign.

Hope so!
