July 9, 2004 -- Whoopi Goldberg delivered an X-rated rant full of sexual innuendoes against President Bush last night at a Radio City gala that raised $7.5 million for the newly minted Democratic ticket of John Kerry and John Edwards. Waving a bottle of wine, she fired off a stream of vulgar sexual wordplays on Bush's name in a riff about female genitalia, and boasted that she'd refused to let Team Kerry clear her material.

"I Xeroxed my behind and I folded it up in an envelope and I sent it back with a big kiss mark on because we're Democrats - we're not afraid to laugh," she said.

Fellow Freepers, I urge you to send an email to eight or ten of your non-freeper friends, telling them to send an anti-Whoopi email to Slimfast. I did so and have been delighted by the swift response of my friends; they're all sending emails to Slimfast as I type this! There appears to be much hostility towards Whoopi Goldberg out there, so let's harness it!

See if you have a Trader Joes in your area. It's a great place to shop for affordable, healthy foods.

Yes, I am a Christian and am disturbed at how John Kerry, a practicing (?) Catholic, could sit through Whoopi's diatribe laughing.

Kerry is what is called a cafeteria Catholic. Have you not heard that term before? It's a pretty appropriate one for a thread about food. LOL!

Many of us Christians--including myself--laugh at things that later we realize were not really funny but were demeaning and sinful. But from the description of Whoopi's performance, I not only would not have laughed, but would have walked out the door!!

I am so incensed by her, I am contacting every outlet I can think of to get the word out. Democrats need to ask themselves: Is this the kind of man we want for President, who can laugh and enjoy jokes about female genitalia at the expense of our sitting president?

.......As for SlimFast, it doesn't work anyway, in terms of long-term weight loss and health.
Don't beleive their hype, whether spread by Whoopi the Obscene or by anyone else. .....

You almost certainly would not get very far going to the SEC or the law courts on this. Read my above statement carefully. SlimFast "works"--at least for awhile--for many people, if it gets them to cut calories by essentially skipping meals. However, for most people, every pound lost by starvation will be gained back, plus even more weight!! Thus SlimFast, and at least most of the other meal-replacement products mentioned in this thread, or other methods of starvation dieting, cannot yield long-term weight loss, nor do they build health.

The best way to lost weight is VERY SLOOOOOOOOOLY, together with both aerobic and weight-bearing exercise. Rather than going on a diet, people should permanently change the way they eat, using the most advanced nutritional knowledge. See http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/now/aug24/ The nutritionist mentioned in this article also has written a book--for those who like or need "diet" books--which is available through Amazon. However, his approach is NOT a "diet".

People should use the above approach in partnership with their doctors. The should know ALL their "numbers"--not just weight--and work to get them to more healthy levels These "numbers" include blood pressure, blood lipid levels, and blood glucose. They should also realize that significant permanent weight loss is not easy, but is worth the effort.

I know what I am talking about, both professionally and through personal experience. I could do a Whoopi Goldberg-style "big looser" act with my own pants (i.e., NOT a prop). However, I acheived my weight loss by the above method. And I am white, male, and much more good-looking than Whoopi, which makes me too average-looking to meet Hollyweird standards of "telegenicity"!!!

I hope that many people on this thread read this post--it might be the most important thing that some people read all year. As for SlimFast, if Christian and conservative outrage at the Whoopi/Kerry fundraiser starts a strong public campaign to promote good health through REAL FOOD and EXERCISE rather than the (usually "liberal"-oriented) diet industry's and the packaged food industry's bogus offerings, that would be a much better outcome than trying to sue or go to the SEC!!!!

All the diet meal companies (Slimfast, Lean Cuisine, Weightwatchers, etc) donate heavily to the Democrat party. I don't know why, either.

Maybe dems are fatter from eating all that govt cheese.

I'd be surprised if any one at Slim Fast listens or cares. The founder, S.Daniel Abraham, sold Slim Fast Foods to Unilever a while back but I believe he sits on their board. Abraham is a heavy duty, democrat contributor and a major supporter of the Clintons. He was, apparently, an early Howard Dean contributor, too, but then donated $100,000.00 to, Americans for Jobs, Healthcare and Progressive Values. Torricelli also pitched in $50,000.00 from his abandoned senate campaign fund. That group ran anti-Dean ads during the primaries, especially in Iowa. One of those commercials criticized Dean's history of endorsements by the NRA.

I would just like to inform you, that I am going to discontinue using your product. If a company uses someone like Whoopi Goldberg to sell their product, they have scraped the bottom of the barrel. After her comments at that Hollywood event, I'm surprised Slim Fast didn't terminate her contract-so until you do, I'm using one your competitors product.

Above is the e-mail I sent.

This is the e-mail I sent to Unilever.
I understand that Whoopi Goldberg is a spokesperson for one of companies (SlimFast) and I'm writing to inform you that I am going to discontinue using any of your products associated with your companies, until you have a different representative.

Her comments at the recent Hollywood event were uncivilized , crude, and disgusting.
