I'm lucky enough to be in a band with four non-smoking, good-natured conservatives. UNfortunately, they are all addicted to movies, and most of our travelling jokes revolve around movies that I've never seen. They point out how most movies these days are "homo-promos" but still go see the funny movies.
I personally cannot stand the brain-drainer movies like "Dumb and Dumber", but it's where the jokes come from.
I shut off our cable years ago, and don't go to movies in the theaters (LOTR being the notable exception). It's more peaceful without it, and we can rent the really old movies at the store for the kids for a buck.
The only thing I watch on TV these days is local news and some sports. I get by with Netflix, the Internet, and old radio shows.
My husband, also a musican,is in a band with all conservatives. They do originals and covers of blues and great 70's rock. He usually wears a pro-Bush shirt, has stickers on his guitar case etc. We have been shocked at how many people come up to him to tell himhow great it is to see someone in that arena who is conservative. In two years with thisband, and hundreds of gigs, the support has been 100%. Interesting.
