Dresser was one of the best of the best. They just got hung up in the asbestos fiasco not expecting the courts to be as generous as they were.
And lest we forget, Halliburton's roots were deep within the Demo party.....LBJ/Brown&Root/Vietnam.
Despite all the setbacks, no other contractor could have done better that KBR has in Iraq. My hat is off to those people. Sure the money is great but the display of American know-how and get-it-done attitude should be invaluable to observers.
