This is sickening.
I was doing a routine search for a phone number, and look at the banner advertising on the superpages.com website. Please join me and take a minute and send them feedback and tell them what you think of their complicity in slaughtering innocent lives.

Thanks in advance. Let's give them a good FReeping. They need to know what God-fearing American capitalists think of business that trade in blood.

Activism is needed here. I would be grateful if you would ping your lists.

They should leave businesses out of their yellow pages? What's next, leave out the listings for businesses that sell guns and knives, or churches that some don't agree with?

Actually, the smart thing to do might be to click the link to the abortion site. If Verizon is running their site like other sites do, they make their advertisers pay by the "click-through." In short, the advertisers pay little or nothing to put the link on the page, but have to pay Verizon anywhere from two to twnty cents per more for every person that actually clicks the link and is taken to the advertiser's site.
Go for the wallet.

I hesitated, but I did click on the link. All the usual suspects are linked there as well: NOW, ACLU, Feminist Majority, Planned Parenthood, Catholics for a Free Choice, etc.
I agree -- go for the wallet. Verizon needs to hear from its customers. It has cost them my business.
To: Salvation
There is a search feature on the site that allows you to search for one of their slaughterhouses by zip code. As vile as that is, it could be used for activism also. Thanks for your links.

You see, if you don't believe in their point of view, your opinion isn't valid...
To: Dixie Mom
Put your energies somewhere else. This Yellow Pages thing is just plain stupid. Sorry. Verizon cannot pick and choose who they decide to put in their directory. No offense, but it makes you look a wee bit nuts.

If it costs them, I'm all for it. Thanks, f zero, I did not notice the toll-free number.

Everyone has points of view, and who is to say what's valid or not?

Under what pretense can they refuse a paid listing to a legal (albeit repulsive) business?

It's a private web site. Why couldn't they refuse the business of anyone they wanted?
