sp2 beta for what?
SP2 Beta for Windows XP I think - as that is the one rumored to be a real headache?
I can't get the webpages of your first two links in the article.
The search entity that hijacked my search button ("ShopNav") comes up with "Not Found."
Had it installed for 48 hours or so.
One quirk seems to be that my always on net connection is rendered dysfunctional unless I unplug the power cord from the net LAN unit, I think it is--for a time and reboot my computer.
It's been holding this time for more than 8 hours so maybe that's solved. Will see.
Otherwise, may be a bit better than earlier setup.
Still need to get Norton's LIVEUPDATE fixed. Sigh.
Blessings,
Oh sheesh. Our DSL was having the same problem the past 2-3 weeks every couple of days to every day. It varied but it was a serious pain. I don't think I'll continue DSL after our mandatory 1st year unless it changes drastically and the problems stop.
(knocking on wood) - this week has been a good one. :)
As for Live Update - I had a problem with that. It kept telling me I needed to update my definitions when I didn't. Is that what you're dealing with?
You are welcome.
Check for updates every once in a while too.
I don't think they control "normal" pop-ups, only those that are put there by spyware.
I see you are over here... been studying ARK...
Be back shortly...

Earlier this morning we couldn't even get anything,......so the load must of nuked them...
Now if you are talking about the links to articles here on freeRepublic, the first one was bad...see backhoe's note back to me with a corrected link.
No, the LIVE UPDATE yields an error msg and doesn't work.
Go to Norton, they have several options to fix it. Faithfully follow each one. Still on fix. The fall back solution is very complicated and takes about 30 min. I haven't gotten very far on it yet.
The net connection is via microwave from an antenna on our roof to the ISP's tower. Dad and I use the same connection. His net service has been fine. I figure it must be related to the SP2 Beta as that's the only thing that's changed on my score.
Anyway--appreciate your kind responses.
Thanks, Ernest, I can use all the help I can get...enjoy the Beach!
Thanks for this info.
