Don't forget that he's also a permanent teenager who refuses to grow up. Hollywood and TeeVee have told him that sort of behavior is perfectly normal.
Words cannot express how grateful I am that I didn't get stuck in that boat with a great number of my generation.
Example: Just had my high school's 10 year reunion. Now, just considering the males that I graduated with (about 25 of them), 3 are bartenders, 2 work as nightclub bouncers, 4 still live at home, and 3 are unemployed.
Of those 12, none are married, nor have had any type of serious relationship.
Just...sad.
Can't suppress...uncontrollable laughter.
Must not...urinate in pants.
Uh-oh!
It's too late.

You're darn tootin' dat was an hilarious bit! I worked my ass off for that audience. I'll have you know that Will Ferell p**** his pants when we wrapped up that shoot! I mean, c'mon. If you ain't diggin' Cowbell, you ain't diggin' life man!
Ping list for the discussion of the politics and social aspects that directly effects Gen-Reagan/Generation-X (Those born from 1965-1981) including all the spending previous generations (i.e. The Baby Boomers) are doing that Gen-X and Y will end up paying for.

Ya' best check yourself before ya' wreck yourself.
Besides, dat ain't fat G.
The firmer the cushion, the harder the pushin'. Or sumpin' like dat.

Nancy Pelosi reminds me of the Stepford Wives. I think its the unblinking stare, and the canned, preprogramed droning that locks it in for me.
You know what this means, don't you?
The guy with the photo-shopped "Nancy Pelosi as dominatrix" pictures is heading our way.
God help us all.
Plastic bobble head Pelosi.
There's actually a cool store in Manhattan that sells "action figures" of the prez, Giuliani, etc.
One of the best toy stores in NYC, in my humble opinion.
Pelosi reminds me of the mom in "Brazil" who is constantly getting face-lifts. I think the actress who plays that character was also on the 1970s series "Soap". I forget her name.
Katherine Helmond maybe?

What's interesting is now that we're separated, I can actually enjoy being a mom in the traditional sense. I read another article here about how there is a shift among the young to more traditional values, there is hope...
Then again, I've been fooled by these black shadow, cut-outs in place of real photos before, so I wouldn't be willing to place money on it.
I think I'll wait for the
Internet Movie Data Base
to upgrade its picture files.
Maybe they could use some of those paper effigies you always see at those cool "Mothers Of The Disappeared" protests down in Latin America.
Well I was going by circumstantial evidence--being in both Brazil and Soap which is listed in the IMDB.
Here is a photo, but you need to have seen the movie Brazil to understand what I am talking about.

You raise good points in your post. I think the reason the remake misses the mark as to what men want is because the screenplay was written by a gay man.
The "new man" & new woman" were inherited by boomers, not created by them.
Check the bios of some of the founders of the movement.
Betty Friedan was born in 1921.
Bella Abzug was born in 1920.
Gloria Steinem (the young "pretty" one) was born in 1934.
