The logic of annulment is that the Church recognizes a faulty union has been created, and nullifies this union in the interests of the injured party. This permits the injured party to remarry in the Catholic Church. There are also civil annulments. I qualified for both. I don't plan on getting remarried, or have my kids be technically labeled as bastards. I even kept my ex husband's last name, so that people wouldn't think my kids were illegitimate.
If you have the money, you can get an annulment. People get them for convenience, not for valid reasons.
Exactly. I've never seen proof of the annulment and I think such basic biographical information is fair game for a Presidential candidate.

If Dan Proft is bright enough to any good against Kerry, he would have been bright enough to keep Ryan from self-destructing. Now that he's out of a job with Ryan dropping out, this is purely a sour grapes venture. Dan ought to know better.

I think it's a terrible mistake to go after Kerry's first marriage and divorce. More likely than not, the person who will be most harmed is his ex-wife, who has written a book about her battle with depression.

Aren't you putting a bit too much responsibility on Dan? I doubt he accompanied Ryan and wife into the clubs in question.
You may be correct in assuming this is sour grapes. But, what the hay? It's politics.
His association with Ryan should not preclude him from anything.
