Remember how horrified we were that we did not retaliate against the Taliban and Al Quida for 911 for awhile?..We want to hit something...anything, over there right now...
I want it to be well thought out and effective.
(Thinking about public beheadings of the Saudi Al Queda prisoners in retaliation by the Saudis is comforting me at the moment...fantasy,I know)
We are scared of ticking off the Saudis because they have 3 Billion dollars invested in our economy.
Excellent.
His empty rhetoric, as you call it, is to engage some part of the Muslim world to deal with terrorism rather than starting WWIII. He has given this country substance, more substance in foreign policy than we have seen for years, he has challenged the world and the United Nations and marched in accordance with his own vision. To act now as if he was gutless just defies reality.
No and the lovely Suadis' are the ones that let 6, 15 yr old girls burn to death rather than to run out without there head towels! and the Saudi's who stone women in the public square for all to see or the Saudi's who sit back on the big fat muffs and collect billions of dollars from countries needing there oil while they let terrorists Kill innocent Americans...
And the Saudi's who torture anyone who practices Christianity..
ISALM==Devils Desciples
There are photos that should be in that montage.
As horrifying as those are, the poor people falling to their deaths from that height, there are others that have never seen the light of day since the week or so after 911.
They have completely disappeared, the ones of bodies smashed on the ground. There was a thread on FR then that had some of these photos, but they were removed almost right after they were posted.
I managed to save one, only one. It is of a hand torn off its arm, just a hand lying on the ground.
Those photos never appear.
Amen. Loved your post. It illustrates why we have a representative republic and not a pure democracy run by mob rule. Some people do not think through complex problems like this carefully. Bush is running very complex plays on this war with quite a few fronts to deal with. The terrorists are not just in one place where we can conventiently nuke them all.
He is nuts ... I'll take a pass on listening
One guy said "Thank God for the Internet." I said 'Amen!'
We must now look to the Internet to find the truth and to view what we ADULTS want to see. A picture is worth a thousand words.
The days of squirming over seeing a spider has gone...and I am an adult and can make choices for myself. I HATE the media treating us like children! Let us make up our own mind........we can decide what we want to view.
I was watching Shep. The camera caught him looking at his laptop and winching. I could tell he was watching the video or looking at Paul's pictures. He described them to us, but he said "You won't be seeing them on THIS channel."
Sorry people, I have to disagree. The people who committed all these crimes are not Muslim, they pretend to be and use GOD as an excuse. There is a big difference.
Absolutely. The enemy are the Terrorists/Murderers, not innocent Iraqi citizens.
Excellent. (And good idea to protect your name from those who would retaliate...)
Why not direct your emotions to the right place, the savages who did this and their supporters instead of being sarcastic about the one man in all the world who is genuinely trying to do something about them.
The CIA should capture the " Al Queda of the Peninsula" or whatver they call themselves leader's family, i'm sure he has some, or his relatives, get Al Jazera or whatever outlet and send him an ultimadum of surrender in an hour or your family dies.
But this spate of terrorist activity will not be brought to a close until we win the war. That's what we have to do...win the war.
How do you do that when the world is involved in a world war, and the world refuses to see it.
The enemy isn't just located in the Middle East, and it isn't just aimed at us... Think of what it took to get us to Iraq. Half this country think we are in the wrong. It took Tony Blair every bit of political capital he had to get the UK involved.
Furthermore, this President is in the political fight of his life...not because he is doing too less, but because he is doing too much. War is hard, messy, and has set backs. Everytime a roadside bomb goes off, Kerry gains in the polls. Spain's government fell because of a bombing. Europe won't fight because they being overtaken even as they sleep.
How do you get this country to fight? If 9/11 didn't do it...then there isn't enough political rhetoric to do it.
So, right now (realizing that the situation was fluid) I see the absolute importance of a democratic and stable Iraq and Afghanistan. The President is involved in a huge gamble. That democracy will take hold in Iraq. And guess what, there are Muslims working along side of us (who are not our enemy) to see that this is done.
We can't retreat because that is what these animals are hoping. Paul Johnson isn't the target. We were the target. Staying and fight and building Iraq/Afghanistan is the right course.
And we are going to have to hunt them down one by one while we are stablizing Iraq because that's where we are in the war. When the time comes... Syria, Iran, the Palestinian Authority, and then the Saudis...
Maybe not Muslim but ISLAM is a Psychotic Devil Cult no doubt about it...
