I understand (on an unofficial basis) that a rally is being planned for Spokane in conjunction with this event.

I will update this thread with any new information I receive. Also, once this is official, updates will be posted in the Spokane County GOP site.

I will be flying into Spokane for a wedding next week. I will check next week for updates as to when Bush will be there. That would make a nice little addition to my trip.

Interesting that it was published on a demoncRAT website. Who is leaking the schedule or is it ruse to see if the President is really coming to Spokane?

It may be announced tomorrow. According to this Seattle Times story:

"Spokesman Ken Lisaius said travel schedules for the president are traditionally announced the Friday before the next week."

Hi Scott, I see you beat me to it. I talked with Nethercutt Headquarters today. Exact route and time is still under wraps due to security, but President Bush will be at Fort Lewis and in Spokane for Nethercutt Fundraiser. I am disappointed the cost is so high. I cannot attend at that price. I might have sprung for $500 a plate, but cannot swing the $1000 a plate. The Fort Lewis visit will strictly be a visit with the troops. Not a campaign stop, but a presidential visit. I suppose nothing would keep Freepers from a rally outside of Fort Lewis though if the time can be nailed down better.

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/president/articles/2004/06/14/bush_kerry_back_on_campaign_trail/

"The president delivers an economic speech Thursday to the National Federation of Independent Business in suburban Washington. On Friday, he'll address troops at Fort Lewis, Wash., and supporters at a campaign rally in Reno, Nev."

Lousy AP creeps don't even mention Spokane, of course.

The actual meeting place and time will be determined on Wednesday night. I'll post them here as soon as I get home from the meeting.

New info from KREM-TV:
President Bush will be landing at Fairchild Air Force Base on Thursday afternoon. A presidential motorcade will then bring him to the Spokane Convention Center where he will attend a campaign fundraising dinner for U.S. Representative George Nethercutt, who is running for the U.S. Senate.

Monday, the Fairchild base confirmed that the president's plane will be landing and departing from the base. He is scheduled to shake hands with members of the Air Force and their families. The public will not be allowed on the base to greet the president upon his arrival.

The city of Spokane wants people to be aware that the presidential motorcade to and from the convention could shut down various streets for security purposes. The routes will not be released in advance.

However, city officials told KREM 2 News to expect parts of Interstate 90 to the Spokane Falls Boulevard to be shut down for the motorcade. for a brief time Thursday afternoon and late Thursday night.

I assume the rally site will be somehwere downtown, since the motorcade route is not being released.
