I think the Pelosi's of the world surround themselves with "yes" type people, those that wouldn't dare to suggest anything contrary to what a Pelosi spews, no matter how much self inflicted damage will result.

Its the primary failing within the Democratic Party. If you don't drink the kool aid....you can't hang around for long.

Ironically, I'm seeing quite a bit of that around the net today.....

I don't know about that. i believe that the Dems think they can make people believe a certain way, by telling them that a lot of other people believe that way.

The reason the Democrats have come out in spin-mode isn't to divert attention from the Reagan remembrances, or to convince voters, but to convince themselves....The only way a Democrat political professional can get out of bed in the morning and go on with his or her life is to walk in a cloud of self-delusion. The praise and affection that have been heaped on Ronald Reagan this week have been reality slapping them in the face, and they know it. By mid-week, they reverted to lying to themselves, as a way to convince themselves that "all this doesn't matter."

Most definately. Which is why they have to skew the polls. Rush on just now talking about that.

Of course Reagan will help Bush. He alredy has by giving W the courage to pursue his conservative convictions. At the end of the day, Kerry is a looser.

Did you happen to see Gray Davis on Hannity and Colmes last night? The dem talking points are soooo transparent. He was asked what he'd learned from Reagan as governor.

After (surprisingly) sputtering something about how he obviously didn't utilize everything he could've learned from Reagan, he reverted to the usual "Reagan-was-just-a-jolly-guy-who-told-great-jokes" mantra.

The more they spin, the worse they look.

I thought it was tasteless for Wellstonians to try to turn Wellstones death into a political issue. In honesty and integrity I have to demand the same standard from our own.

I think you're comparing apples and oranges. If GW Bush and the RNC had a big rally and acted like the "demoncrat party leadership" acted, then you would have a point.

I have seen NO partisanship from Republican leaders this week. Pundits will always analyze the issues of the day, that's what they do.

BTW read my tagline, wouldn't you agree? W governs much more like Reagan than like his own father.

I hope his legacy will continue to inspire a new generation and spark another Reagan Revolution.

I think we're still in the Reagan Revolution. It was Clintoon whose DLC pulled him to the right to win an election. It was his signing welfare reform that helped reelect him. Bush has certainly picked up the torch.

My view is the democrats will release the "hounds" concerning Ronald Reagan beginning full force on the Sunday talk shows, and thats where Bush might benefit politically.

Nancy Reagan will fight to protect that legacy until her last breath, bring it on dems, we'll see who wins that conversation.LOL!

These people are fools. Everyone can see that. And by "everyone," I mean "swing voters."

(And, no, I didn't see GraySkies on H&C. I didn't even get to watch the memorial for Pres. Reagan. Not to brag -- I just want to exult in the glorious time we had last night -- but Wednesday evenings is one of the evenings each week that my wife and I get together with another couple to pray for the nation, for Pres. Bush, for our leaders, for the war on terror, for our soldiers, and for the condition of our society. Last night, we have a tremendous time, praising God for the life and influence of Ronald Reagan, thanking God for giving this man to our nation at the time that He did, and praying that the values of Ronald Reagan will live on in those who lead this country...which was a subtle way of asking God to always have a Reagan Republican in the White House. :-)

"I don't know about that. i believe that the Dems think they can make people believe a certain way, by telling them that a lot of other people believe that way."

I have no doubt the Democrats believe that. This is why in three consecutive losing elections they have stated "We didn't get our message out".

Au contrair....they did get it out, they just don't have the emotional stability to admit the message keeps getting rejected.

Democrat self delusion is a very valuable tool for those of us on the right side of the political spectrum.

Just wait til the RNC convention. I fully expect Mrs Reagan to be there, and give a keynote address if she is able.

The Democrats have no choice but to disparage Ronald Reagan at the earliest opportunity, if they don't its an implied admission to their base that they were wrong for two decades.

No liberal can't allow that to happen. If they do, the whole fragile house of cards, the coalition that is the Democratic Party, falls apart as quickly and as suddenly as the Soviet Union did in 1989. The only thing that holds this coalition together is abortion (a fading issue due to RU 486 in my opinion) gun control (failing issue due to the 9/11 attacks) and Blind Hatred of All Things Bush (no election can be won on that plank, in my opinion).

The next week to ten days will tell us how they are going to go about diminishing Reagan, and by proxy President Bush.

I think you're right, Grassontop.

My2Cents posted the comment I quoted yesterday. It provides the only reasonable answer to how those people function.

When you view the numbers of offices held by each party, comparing say 1990 with 2000, the shift is staggering. Its thousands of elective offices going from decades long Democratic Control to GOP. From local to state to the federal level. There is no disputing this, which is why the media ignores it.

It doesn't line up with the mainstream media's view of "what ought to be".
