Bringing the cameraman was in poor taste, but even mortal enemies can show respect to their deceased opponents by respectfully viewing/treating the body.
We need not duplicate the Democrats' massive mistake of booing Vice President Cheney when he showed his respect to the body of the late Senator Wellstone in Minnesota.
Shoot, half of those here criticizing Senator Kerry for going to see President Reagan's body would have been upset if he had boycotted the whole thing.
We don't need that level of hate. We have more class than that. Sen. Kerry went to see President Reagan. Leave it at that (though the cameraman thing is likely to raise some eyebrows elsewhere).
My feeling is that what we say here, although it could be used against us in the media, is far different than actually appearing at an event like the Wellstone funeral and acting disrespectfully.
I'm just asking a question now: do you honestly equate this thread with what happened on national TV?
