But it still feels like being punched hard in the stomach.
[I had just entered the Air Force when Reagan was inaugurated.]
"The American Dream isn't one of making government bigger, it's keeping faith with the mighty spirit of free people under God." - Ronald Reagan
I heard this on the show, and it is still a pleasure to read it here. This explains his bad mood on Friday that he wouldn't tell us about. I too recall the hatred the left had for President Reagan, and much of the same things are being repeated now about President Bush.
I know it is great that the media is heaping praise on him now that he is gone, but it is also a little sickening. They should have done it while he could appreciate it.
I have missed Reagan since he left office. He gave us quite a thrilling ride and it was very painful when it had reached the end. If it were possible I would have been more than happy to have him in office for the rest of my life.
bumped for all to read
It's actually an honor to post great commentary like this and spread it further.
Whatever became of Marta? Is she okay?
As far as I know everything is fine but I am not an expert on Rush. Others might know more than I.
"I did notice Rush's sadness last Friday."
I did too. He was far too serious and somber. And the minute I heard of President Reagan's passing, I thought, "He knew this on Friday."
Mr Clinton's "Legacy" has LONG SINCE been overshadowed by Mr Reagan--&, perhaps, "W";--Mr Clinton accomplished Little, & his "War" in Bosnia may be regarded as one of America's Greatest Blunders!! (we MAY have supported the WRONG SIDE!!)
"Clinton" is to "Reagan," as "McKinley" is to FDR!!
"W" is YET to be Judged, but, so far, he looks a LOT MORE like "Reagan" than he looks like "Clinton." Americans Instinctively Know our True Leaders; Mr Reagan was our Leader--Mr Clinton was NOT.
America Survives Despite occassional poor Leadership--THAT is part of our strength.
ANY NATION capable of producing a "Ronald Reagan" will survive.

I never did understand the hatred for the military during the 70's and never bought into it. Now I learned that Jimmy Carter would not allow anyone dressed in a military uniform to enter the White House.
Making decisions everyone already agrees with is not leadership. We have been blessed with the "right man at the right time" a number of times in our short history as a nation. Not least of which was the coming together of so many great men at its' inception....A just and merciful God casting his eyes to and fro searching for those who's hearts are tender towards Him?....Bet on it
bumped and bookmarked.
All we Know, is that Mr Reagan "Saw the Right Path, & that "W" may ALSO 'See the Right Path!'"
So we "Soldier On," & we HOPE THAT we "Have IT Right!!"
What we DO KHOW, is that the "Concept of America" is the Right Way to Go.
