I was in my formidable years during the Reagan Era. The nutty fringe are those that now own the media networks. In the 80's, these same people were responsible for painting the picture that Reagan was nothing more than an ignorant figurehead for the GOP who was going to lead us into a Global Nuclear War.

You may be right. And if you are, we should see a similar election result this year as we saw in 1984.

No, I didn't make myself clear.

The nutty fringe was never the majority of the democrats in the electorate. That's partly why there are the 'fringe.'

I don't doubt that much of the media is that nutty fringe, of course. I'm talking about the average person in the electorate. While they may be misguided, they are probably nowhere near as shrill over the death of Reagan as the DU jackals are.

That's all I said. It has nothing at all to do with the election of Bush in 2004. The FR mindset that somehow 2004 will be another 1984 is misplaced. About 10-12 states are just out of reach for Republicans in a national election. Nothing will change that, I am afraid. I was recently in NYC and if anything, its more nuttie leftist than it was when I left 2 years ago. Does that mean they are happy Reagan died? Probably not. Does it mean they will vote for Kerry no matter what? You bet.
