I'll take strategery over any dang think the dims can up with any day!
1. I didn't pick on the Southern/ Texas accent, I picked on mispronounciation. You can have an articulate person from any subculture and someone (no matter how bright) from any subculture who just finds language to be an obstacle. W is in the latter category; unfortunately for mankind because if he were smooth he'd be absolutely unbeatable like Reagan.
2. There is no misogyny implicit in my reference to the massive "gender gap" among less educated unmarried women.
3. I'm picking on the President over this matter because I'm freaking frustrated that W can't sweet talk the idiot middle and my children's future may depend on him winning that segment of the electorate.
4. Yes the stategery is working, but the idiot middle doesn't understand strategery and doesn't know how to discern whether it is working or not.

Keep dreaming buddy. I used to be an ideologue too. But the fact is, good honest, not too politically bright, moral women who SHOULD be voting for Bush don't. And I personally know 3 (and I don't meet a lot of women believe me) who didn't vote for him last time around because he is inarticulate and it made them nervous. I live in Pennsylvania, we are a critical swing state, It doesn't take many thousands to "swing" things. Guys think mispronunciation is cool-it gives that good ol' boy non-wonk image. But women don't think its cool. Call me whatever you want to call me but that's how it works.

Ah...just the kind of women the elite NY media love, and respect to the fullest.
Which is why they "give thoughtful, balanced and fair" reporting everyday.
Reports and information that are full of context, historical, and give a wide range of perspective.
As they did with Clinton, remember he spoke brilliantly, and was simply a "bad boy", his wife was also brilliant and they were both victims of the pervert, Ken Starr.
I am so glad these women are voting for the Kerry/UN/Soros ticket, because its so embarrassing when Letterman puts Bush on every nite with another mispronunciation.
After all, the "world" loves a US President who gets BJs from a 21 year old intern, and hates a Pres who cannot speak fluent French.
Sophistication, Oprah, and the UN is what makes America great!
Not what I'd call a significant statistical sample, 'buddy.'
LOTS of people were bothered by his inarticulateness before he was elected........BEFORE 9/11......because they thought it indicated that he wasn't too bright. (Those of us who paid attention knew better).
Now everyone knows it only indicates that he occasionally mispronounces words. No one thinks he's stupid, no matter what he/she says. A few on the left are still saying it, but even they don't really believe it. They're scared of him because he IS so smart.
I think you've got your worries misplaced, Rippin. There's plenty other stuff to be concerned about.......so I suggest that you talk to everyone you know, and make sure they know how much we need to reelect this President for the sake of America's future, and our very survival. Go door to door if necessary, and help put PA in the BUSH column in November. :o)
Man did I nail it when I used the term "ideologue." You know more about people than they know about themselves.

And then tell me that you seriously think Bush's political foes who claim he's stupid really think he is. I don't 'know more about people than they know about themselves,' nor did I claim that. I just know that leftists are liars, and that they DON'T think George W. Bush is stupid no matter what they say.
It doesn't take a whole lot of savvy to figure that out. But it's obviously perception that you are missing....
(btw, still amused by your statistical sampling of 3 that supposedly proves your point. :o)
