I hope this gets to everyone who has posted to this thread.
I cannot believe some of what I am reading here. Some of you have it, but some of you talk about muslims and the terror network like they are Barney and Oppie. Don't you understand, they want to kill you! They would love nothing better than to totally disrupt our way of life within the borders of this country.
There is a fair sized muslim community here, I hope that I know each and everyone of them by sight and description of their cars so I can tell if something "strange" is happening. Most of them are physicians. What a way to strike terror into the heart of mid-america then have them suddenly start killing off patients or .......
Am I paranoid? You bet I am.
Am I off my meds? Probably am.
Am I safe? I honestly do not know.
I do know that I have total situational awareness of what is happening, and I sure do not like what I see.
It's interesting when the Nazis were at war with Europe and the USA --- we didn't allow Nazis in full garb to move over to the USA and start taking over. We didn't feel inhibited to ban certain of their practices and ideological beliefs.
There is a serious problem with Republicans as well as Liberals regarding belief in the level of potential danger these people pose when they feel they have sufficent numbers to inflict their will. If the new alert is right about suicide bombers that attitude might change rapidly. Right now everyone is in a wait n see mode, which is the sensible mode to be in at present. However, further immigration from Middle East nations should not be encouraged.
Bump for later read.
Most of them are physicians? And you're afraid?
I think your paranoia has gottten the better of your situational awareness.
I agree with nuconvert's response. At the start of WWII, FDR said that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself. Organized terror hasn't changed a lot in 70 years; it's just being harnessed in new ways. It's all the same thing. If you feel irrational fear, the extremists can declare a temporary victory over you on the spot.
We won WWII by reacting intelligently to fear. Right now I'm more worried about our own disunity than anything else. Think about that for a minute!
