Because while the American press is free, it is not trusted. And that makes it useless. The free press has been hobbled not by government censorship, but by its own perversion. It has been taken over and subverted.

Over 90% of the media is liberal. This study is bogus.

Ever met any journalism students?
Every one that I have ever met went into it with the idea that America is a terrible, corrupt place and that their job would be to expose this!
They were liberal idealogues BEFORE they began their missions.

There is more to it than that. The major news coalition, ie: networks, major newspaper chains, all get their stories from the same sources, hence; "managed" news. Fortunately, there are some conservative (read: Truth) news outlets. My favorite, and one which I heartily recommend is; The New American. Check it out on their website; www.tna.com subscription price for a year is only $39.00 (26 issues). Then you can get the the truth and the whole story, so you won't have to subject yourself to the "Nightly Diatribe".

About a quarter of adult Americans have a bachelors degree. More than 95 percent of reporters, by some estimates, have a bachelors degree. That makes them more educated, and more brainwashed. The American university is the missionary field of the liberal movement, and it graduates converts every spring. What a stupid statement. Are we to believe that everyone who graduates from college with a bachelor's degree has somehow been brainwashed into a liberal?

You'd be surprised how often leftists say the media can't be liberal because corporations run them.
Utter insanity.

The reasons liberals are attracted to journalism are two:
A. They abhor capitalism, and since journalism doesn't pay much, they are not weighted down with the guilt which money would bring, and
B. Journalism enables them to tell others how to live and think, thereby filling the financial void with self-importance.
