Yeah, we are over by Mallard. The West Bend spotters saw the thing south of WB on the ground. I don't know how far south of town they were though.

Your post reminded me of the sheriff's deputy in Oklahoma who found the baby after she'd been ripped from her mother's arms. I saw the video tape from his dash camera only once - would love to be ablt to find a copy of it - but went searching and found a couple stories about it.

Anyway, the point of my post (my gosh, I'm rambling, I must be getting old) - is to say how in awe I am of our LEOs and firefighters who go out into the worst weather to keep an eye out for us.

Here's some more stories about Sheriff's Deputy Robert Jolley.

Yeah the fire and first responders really stepped up, as well as national guard and general citizens. That night, I heard on my hubby's pager our dispatch talking to county fire guys. They were there searching all houses, house to house to make sure all were accounted for. By around 10:00 that night, they had made sure everyone was ok. These guys and gals around here are ALL volunteers too, by the way!

We live in Humboldt. My mother in law was babysitting my two boys in Rutland about 7 miles SE of Bradgate. When the Warning went out I was on the way to pick them up. The clouds were BAD. The were going in circles and the wind was hitting my van from 4 different directions. It ended up passing to the north us by 2 miles. I was in the Manson IA tornado and I didn't want my kids to go through it alone. Everything came out OK. My in-laws live right on the road that all of the ambulances and rescue crews were using to access Humboldt. It was sad. But it gave me chills to see all the people coming to help.
