Maybe we SHOULD push for polygamy?

Posted on 05/21/2004 8:17:15 AM PDT by Joe Republc

Bump if you think it's time to stand up, be counted, write your congresspersons, and demand the right to marry more than one woman!

Why not? Maybe the current Mrs. Joe Republc would appreciate some help around the house.

Again, why not? After all....

- It doesn't HURT anyone.

- It only affects what happens in the bedroom.

- It's a PRIVATE matter.

- Only narrow-minded Christians have insisted on this in the past.

- We are broad-minded and advanced enough as a culture to handle this. Forget the lessons of the past. In fact, don't even look at tradition.

- If we ask the Mass. Supreme Court to look into it, I'm sure it's constitutional.

- If Adam and Steve can do it, why can't Joe R. and Brittany and Tiffany?

Again, it's my OWN business, and who does it HURT?

Let's have a National Call for Polygamy Day. How about June 21, the day after Father's Day? Let's all call Congress, ABC, NBC, CBS, the local paper, and DEMAND the right to marry more than one woman.

Oh, and let's not forget to call NOW, Ms. magazine, and maybe Barbara Walters.

In the meantime, I'll look for a bigger bed...

Facetiously yours,

-- Joe

Don't forget: It doesn't affect MY marriage, so why should I be concerned?

What about Mrs. Joe Republic marrying Jay Republic?

Maybe your wife would appreciate another man in the house.

Interesting idea!

I want one husband who can cook, one who can fix things, and one who just looks cute in tight jeans.....

( and before you all jump on me, I'M TEASING! )

I want one who's a plumber, one who's an electrician, one who's a car salesman, and one who's a tango instructor.

One of my all-time favorite bits of movie dialog is Richard Crenna's torture scene in Hot Shots, Part Deaux:

TORTURER: I see you are no stranger to pain.

CRENNA: I was married. Twice.

Any man willing to live with multiple bitching wives, deserves what he gets.

Yikes!

The government could never invent a worse punishment.

Why limit it to another man/wife? Why can't the family dog get involved? For that matter, rather than adopt another child, why not marry the child/children?

After all, how does it effect your marriage? Why should people who desire the legitimacy of state sanction be discriminated for their particular love?

Anyone who disagrees with these perfectly logical positions is a hateful, horrible, judgmental non-person.

It sounds like one he!! of an idea to me.

The only question I have is.....will it be Brittany or Tiffany or both serving life sentences for your demise? :-)

Exactly!

Every woman needs at least 5 men in her life,
I want one who can do the heavy yard work,
one who loves to shop with me,
one who is a great house keeper,
one who can get on the roof of the house without falling off.

And one to talk with. :)

LOL.....I was just about to say why on earth would a woman want more than one husband, but I've changed my mind. I like your idea. Plus, I've always said I would love to have a "wife" to cook an clean for me. So maybe this isn't such a bad idea after all. ;)

Why limit it to another man/wife? Why can't the family dog get involved?

Are dogs allowed to vote?

Are dogs allowed to open their own businesses?

Are dogs allowed to buy cars?

Are dogs allowed to enter into any contract in this country?
