I'm just about to start reading the article, but couldn't help but call you on this. This type language is EXACTLY what I think this article is about. There surely have been mistakes made and miscalculations, but that's inevitable when undertaking a large operation like this. Heck, I make mistakes in even the simple things I do everyday. I don't know about you. (Maybe there are no erasers on your pencils.) This is not a movie script where everything happens as it should and all the players are where they need to be when they need to be there. This is real life with real enemies who are trying NOT to be where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be there. We have to try to outsmart them and so far we have, but to say we've BUNGLED it is precisely the wording that the DemocRATS want to use because that conjures up images that we are losing and we are NOT losing.

The DemocRATS and Third Partiers want people to think this is a 2-hour movie where everything goes right for the good guys, and when 1 little thing goes wrong, it's a "BUNGLE". Nothing could be further from the truth. This is WAR, and in WAR, as with any real life situation, (SH)Stuff Happens. I hear enough of that BS from the other side of the isle, I don't need to hear it from my side.

OK, enough rant. Now I'll go read the article.

Thanks for posting this. In all my years at FR, this is probably the most important article ever posted. EVERYONE should read it and pass it on to all they know. It's the only way we have a prayer of saving our country from these fanatics.

Oh Yeah, they know alright. And they also don't care. The DemocRATS operate under the same rules of engagement as the Communists, Socialists, Jihadists, etc....i.e. "The End Justifies the Means." They will say or do ANYTHING and destroy ANYONE to regain their power, and...to keep it. We all saw what happened to Clintoons "enemies." They care not about the truth or reality. The reality is as I told you in my own "rant" earlier. With any undertaking, you have to allow for the inevitable (SH)Stuff that WILL happen. DemocRATS are like mosquitoes. I have forwarded this article to everyone I know. I have heard references from a variety of different people as to a larger strategic plan in the Middle East and what they are saying is in concert with this article. That is why I have a visceral reaction to this whole "prison abuse" scandal. People are missing the ticket (joebucks) and it is becoming demoralizing.

Thanks for that article. I am so tired of hearing people say that Islam is a religion of peace. Only a few are bad, etc... If they are truly following their religion then they wish to convert or kill you is how I understand it. So, why are we allowing so many to come to America? I wish someone in the main stream press would talk about this. I just don't want people to be naive to the possible danger around them.

They are hardly 'bungling' Iraq! What they have done, what the DOD has done, is take a new and forward-looking approach to defeating tyrannical dictators and then changing the responsibilities of the liberated people from serfdom to self-rule. You obviously don't agree with the new methodology, but you will admit (if honest, Mr. Biden) that Saddam was deposed in short order with a minimum of casualties and more quickly than anyone could anticipate and thus exploit.

The thesis of the article is generally correct, but the blatant error in the statement above seriously impairs the writer's authority on this topic. The Wahhabis consider the Shi'ites to be just a step removed from pagans, Jews,and Crusaders. Ayatollah Khomeini was never affiliated with the Wahhabi sect of Mohammedism. Of course, the one thing that the Wahhabis and Shi'ites hate more than each other is the Great Satan USA. When convenient, the enemy of an enemy can be a friend.

It was really debatable whether Frank Church was actually a KGB operative or not.

There is no clash of civilizations. Radical Islam is not strong enough to threaten the West (nor is it much danger to the regimes of the Middle-East unless they decide to go democratic). The threat is the colonization of the West by third-worlders, including Muslims, and the internal traitors who sponsor it. Terrorists who set off bombs in trains and cafes are nothing more than pests. Nations won't go Islamic no matter how many bombs they set off. Nations WILL go Islamic when they have an Islamic majority, that is the threat, terrorism in the West is just a symptom.
